Pretty obvious we need to build around Sharpe/Clingan. Trade whoever else we need to to surround those two.
Yeah they should both be starting!

I don't get why a bunch of people were posting for Scoot to come back in at crunch time, his passes were off by 15 feet.

We should move Ant to the bench when he comes back, but maybe it's not Scoot who should be starting in his place.

Bench role is best for Scoot until he can eliminate the dumb mistakes.

Unacceptable. We only cheer for losses here.

They will get back to their losing ways like they are supposed to. Just a small 2 game bump in the road. Lots of season left to lose!

Interesting stat:

Donovan had more blocks tonight than DA has all season.

If Donovans stats tonight were his only stats for the season, he'd *still* be 3rd on the team in blocks.

After tonight, DC is averaging 2 blocks a game.

and play Clingan at the 4?
Stewart comes off the bench for the Pistons right now and I wouldn't mind him in that role here. He stretches the floor on offense and moves well. I guess you could play both but obviously the 6'8" guy would play the 4 and the 7'2" guy would play the 5 in those instances.

don't worry, chauncey will appease you as soon as he can insert simons and ayton back into the starting lineup

I never want to lose, but sometimes I don't mind them losing (esp if they lose with dignity instead of like they did against Memphis).

But what I mostly like, is to see them show signs of growth and what they can do once they finally get their shit together.

Absolutely this. If the team's good enough, you don't stunt winning culture.

I don't see them in the play-in round. Just too many inconsistencies to overcome in a tough conference that will result in losses. But I ALWAYS look for growth and good habits, and I saw plenty of both the last two games.

We drafted Stewart.

Clingan's fitness is looking better the past couple games, and against Edey/Gobert it appears the game is finally slowing down for him. We'll see if that continues against more mobile bigs, but it's a promising trend. He's much more sure-handed when his head isn't on a swivel trying to keep up with the action.

Scoot/Sharpe/Clingan younger than Camara, I believe. They’re on the glasses and they’re who Joe has said he is building around.

That's why a guy like Camara is so valuable. He contributes at a comparable level to the stars but gets overlooked in a lot of ways, making him much more affordable to retain. He's an essential piece to the rebuild.

I’m not saying Camara isn’t good but it’s clear from the glasses who Cronin is building around.

He’s better to watch when he’s not limited to 10-12 mins as well.

I may be giving up on the Ayton experiment if there’s any chance in hell DC and Timelord can both stay healthy. They’re clearly better for chemistry.

Couple of things
1. Defensively we have potential to be very very good. Showed last couple of nights
2. Biggest concern for me with Sharpe, does he have that fire. When he’s asked to the the man he becomes the man. If you have him off the ball he will defer.
3. Sharpe needs to forced to take 25 shots a game.
4. im not sure that happens with Simons and Grant. (No offense to those guys but they need to be 2nd and 3rd options)

I'm definitely in favor of the Blazers maximizing their lottery position this season. But I have said if Simons-Ayton-Grant are gone and the Blazers are winning enough game to knock them out of the top-half of the lottery, so be it

don't need to get out over our skis too far but the team without Simons/Ayton is a lot more entertaining; lots more. Now, it was only a 2 game homestand and it might be the Blazers just had Minny's number. I think with Simons/Ayton out, the Blazers had matchup advantages. And Camara is a great defensive answer for stars like Edwards. I'm not sure how much of this feel-good 24 hours is sustainable but it sure was fun

I remember Minny from last season; they had incredible mojo. Not this year...do they miss KAT that much?

I have thoughts

Clingan allows the perimeter defenders to defend with pressure without worrying about getting beat

Sharpe, like Ant, can score in bunches. The difference is Sharpe does it WITHIN the offense

Camara might be our best defensive player since Pippen?

Murray is a smart basketball player

Great job from Scoot, despite his shitty passes

Banton came in and did more than chuck

Does Grant play better with this version of the Blazers

Avdija is hard to watch…sometimes….a lot of the time

Billups will immediately insert Ant and Ayton into the starting lineup and wonder why the team struggles as soon as they get healthy

Cronin, like MM, seems to love interchangeable wings, and anyone bashing him needs to check themselves

I get what you're saying. I'm saying that's irrelevant as far as who must be kept as a core piece. Hustle guys get underappreciated by marketers and casual fans, and are more affordable when it comes to retaining all the young talent. That's much more important than who is on the free glasses.
