It worked out pretty good... Didn't it just cost us Nurk? And we also got Camara...reportedly, the Blazers F.O. spent a couple of years coveting Ayton before they landed him in the Dame trade. It was a really stupid desire on the part of Cronim/Schmitz but it was a mission they chose with apparent enthusisam
Billups has to be aware of that. Maybe that will motivate him to go back to the giving Ayton 2-3 times the minutes as Clingan. But since it's pretty clear he won't be the HC next season, maybe Billups won't be so pro-Ayton in his rotations.
seems kind of obvious that of the 3 C's: Ayton/Clingan/Timelord, Ayton is the 3rd best and 3rd most impactful. Adding him to the team was a delusional mistake by the F.O.
Lol. One or two more All-Stars...We’ll see how this is in 10 years then. Because that’s what you’re doing….looking back on history. There was the same exact vibe during Dame’s prime. “Just need one or two new pieces and we’re there”.
I only get excited watching Scoot and Shae, but nowhere near to the level of Dame and CJ……. YET! Get me back in the playoffs for 8 straight seasons or whatever it was and they’ll we’ll talk FAMS!
Dibs!

Gonna need a career night from someone to even have a chance without our two best bigs
Looks like you needed to learn. Suggesting that Clingan wasn't one of our two best bigs...y’all gon learn
Nurkic is 30, Ayton is 26. I would think Ayton has more trade value.
depends on what kind of C a team wants and how much they want to spend for it
I can't imagine either has much value right now. Ayton is a better scorer and shooter; Nurkic is a better rebounder, rim protector, and defender. But Nurk has become pretty floor bound after his injuries
Despite DAs soft start, the team has blatantly committed to him more than the other two vets in all correspondence, I’d be pretty surprised if any “dumping” occurred. He’s also not the albatross of a trade asset you guys go on and on about, half the nba would still bite the bullet and think they could unlock even more out of him. You're right. Neither Ayton nor Nurkic has much trade value.
What matters is that the trade was advantageous for the Blazers because they received Toumani Camara with Ayton.
I won't say the Blazers "won the trade" because it was part of the 3-team Dame trade. Phoenix got Grayson Allen from Milwaukee.
If the Blazers can get anything for Ayton it will be icing on the cake.
I hope Cronin will dump Ayton ASAP and not worry about the icing.
Despite DAs soft start....(edit)...He’s also not the albatross of a trade asset you guys go on and on about, half the nba would still bite the bullet and think they could unlock even more out of him..
Didn’t click on the link, but assuming they aren’t taking into account how good of a human or teammate they are….assuming it’s their impact on the court.I stopped reading when they said Embiid is number 2. PHI couldn’t trade that contract in a million years. The pussy won’t play BTB, blames his teammates for his shortcomings (Dame would never do that cuz he’s a legit leader), and cannot deliver in the post season. Retire already wimp
ALRIGHT!!!!! Sitting here in Starbucks and just this…… This is OUTSTANDING!
I truly believe I’m built more like the top picture, but them both equally!
You’re entitled to say no to all those teams, it doesn’t change the fact he’s a walking double double and former number one pick and most teams have brain dead management. He’s hated by Blazer fans much more than anyone else, that’s one thing that stands out.I like hyperbole sometimes and use if myself. But that's hyperbole off the deep end
"half the nba would still bite the bullet and think they could unlock even more out of him"....c'mon man. He's 26 years old playing in his 7th season. He has not changed a bit in those 7 seasons. His 6th season numbers were generally worse than his 1st and 2nd season numbers and a lot of those numbers aren't that team-dependent. There is no hidden vault of magic talent to unlock. He is what you see
and really, half the teams in the NBA, looking at their own payroll situation and C rotation would NOT be willing to trade for ("bite the bullet") Ayton
Lakers-Clippers-Kings-Warriors-Suns...all NO
OKC-Denver-Minny-Utah....NO
Houston-Memphis-Spurs-Mavs....NO
Pelicans maybe....(unless they decide to tank the season because of numerous injuries)
Boston-NYK-Philly-Toronto...NO
Nets....maybe; (but they have Claxton and Sharpe and have recently escaped the purgatory of giving up 1st round picks for overpriced talent)
Cavs-Pacers-Bucks-Pistons....NO
Bulls?...who knows; (but they have Vucevic for 30M less than Ayton over the next 2 seasons, and Vuevic is arguably as good as Ayton but with many of the same flaws)
Orlando-Miami-Charlotte-Wizards....NO
so, 3 maybe's. There may be a team that might consider it if they are playoff bound and get some season-ending injuries; but that's unlikely. I suppose you can wonder about Indiana. They signed Ayton to that deal in the 1st place and Myles Turner is on an expiring contract. If Turner has hinted he won't re-sign there, the Pacers might loop back around to Ayton. But there's a 15M gap between Turner's salary, even though Turner is a better player. And the Pacers would have trouble coming up with 8M in filler contracts that aren't on players they need
Billups was an Olhey hire. I suspect Cronin might want to hire his own HC
I think Bill Kennedy and Giancarlo Esposito are the same person.
lol...wut?
don't get me wrong, I like random.
