Game Thread 2024-25 GAME #5 - BLAZERS @ CLIPPERS - OCTOBER 30, 2024 - WED - 7:30 PM - KATU 2.2 - BLAZERVISION

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Scoot, Rayan, Kris and Donovan all look like they are going to be really good players..it was good to see Deni hit a few shots tonight...he was turning into Victor Claver...maybe his slump is in the rear view mirror.

Watched the entire game. I like to see our guys competing but 2 wins and 3 losses doesn't excite me. Simons, Grant and Ayton getting more than half the shots doesn't excite me...

The opposing team getting an out of bounds call against them when we blocked a shot off the stanchion and that might have given us the game... does not excite me.

I want Ant on a team where his instant offense means more wins than losses in both the regular season and the playoffs. I want Jerami on a team where his two way talent means playoff wins. The same goes for Ayton. So either we cash in most of our young players, guarantee Chicago our 2025 pick, package a huge bundle of picks together with our young prospects for a young proven superstar that we can win with in the playoffs and the future... or we trade those three (Grant, Ayton and Simons) and start learning how to play the game right while losing and securing the best pick possible.

Cronin wants to play the fence.

the Simons-Ayton-Grant trio is going to generate just enough wins to fuck up any chance the Blazers have at a high draft pick. If they are there, Billups will play them big minutes like tonight. They averaged 34 minutes and took 53 of Portland's 92 shots (58%).

Ayton 34 minutes; Clingan 11 minutes. Simons 36 minutes and 24 shots; Scoot 24 minutes and 8 shots. That's correct, Simons had as many shots as Scoot had minutes.

yuck
Don't understand how any Blazer fans continue to defend this franchise continuing to go with a core big 3 of Grant/Ayton/Simons. Even in a win its frustrating to watch. In a loss it seems beyond pointless to have them in the way of players developing.

What's the deal with Simons forcing the issue at the hoop? It seems like in his mind defenses don't make adjustments, so he doesn't either. Except they do.

Hoping for a foul?

I was super excited to see what Rupert did out there tonight in his 8 minutes. Enjoyed his 8 minutes more than the other 232 the rest of the team played combined.

Hopefully there is a Rupert specific highlights. I wanna see what the fuss is all about

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the first time Chauncey has beaten Lue?
Wow you are nearly correct.... Blazers have lost every game against the Clippers since Billups has been the coach except the second game which was game 5 of Billups first year on Oct 29, 2021.

Olshey was still our GM.

How are my haters doing tonight? Finally silent?

Cronin straddles the fence like a stripper on a pole.

Yeah, it's like he he's scared to go all on the youngins and complete rebuild. He wants to keep guys like Ant, Grant, and, Ayton around to try for a quick rebuild. He seems to be at least trying to wait it out before he has to make a choice between the two, maybe hoping some of these youngins develop sooner than later and can fit with the vets to win.

I like Camara, but he doesn’t seem that interested in rebounding, does he?
Being such a good defender, he's often tasked with sticking the other team's offensive lead guy... tonight he was the primary guy on Harden. On ball D often takes the defender out of rebounding position.

With all his other attributes, if he ever features a consistent 3 ball he'll be very valuable. Deni is similar in this way. The future may be a little ways off, but it is bright

STOMP

Ask and you shall receive.

Look at what the 2nd youngest player (Clingan) is doing for the youngest player (Rupert). Rupert saw that and headed straight for the hoop.

Clingan is not looking toward the hoop to get a rebound for his stats. He's setting a block on his man so Rupert can dribble right by.

I am so proud of Little Scooter for reading my posts and learning what to do. You just keep taking my posts to heart, Little Scooter, and I may promote you to Scooter later this season.

Avidja, when you learn how to spell your own name you will be murder. Good little rebounder. You look 6-6 out there but you MUST be 6-9 as you claim. Plus, you made a three.

Clinger, first career three. Keep breathing hard and your lungs will grow up.

Ayton, don't listen to them. You have moves and good hands for 5-foot shots. They want you to play like a hulking stiff.

Powell, you were Olshey's best trade. You for Trent and Hood was a steal. A shooter/scorer, you should have been perfect for Stotts' system.

Ty Lue, you sure have gained weight since you played. Remember when you were handsome? Really? I don't.

Anfernee, you used to be a budding volume shooter. Under Billups you're just a budding shooter. His system makes you look small.

Grant, you tried. If you had muscle, you'd have moves near the basket instead of living in the corner.

Camara and Murray, someone over the summer taught you offensive skills. You act like different players from last year. More smooth and instinctive.

you seem to spend a lot of time complaining about other posters...the HCP method?

Ah wizenheimer my favorite excuse to call it a night. I see you’ve infected a new board. I actually left realgm when you became a commonality.

This might be a better look at Clingan leveraging against his man far from the hoop.

Will also add, I know nobody wants to win, and also to hate on Simons, but he scored and assisted on 12 of the last 14 points in our win.

He also clearly didn't learn that his shots will eventually be blocked if he keeps going to the hoop. And then he did it again.

What happened to his game-ending mid-range shot?
