The skill Trump actually has is how to bankrupt a business. It's what he does! Government is closed. Sigh.....honey order some more gold plastic decorations for the new ballroom! I'm going to be the DJ!!!

People waiting in TSA lines at airports are now for ed to watch video of dog killer blaming Democrats for shutdown.

They've always used Veterans and active military members as pawns and talking points. They're no better than Trump who has little respect for people who go into the military (unless he can benefit from praising them).

The pathetic thing is, the DNC will cower to the RNC, and somehow make it so they'll agree to not let Grijalva get sworn in, and everyone will forget about it once their checks start coming again.

No Grijalva will have to be sworn in eventually. Republicans just biding their time. I don't think they will give in. They along with the Trump administration would be glad to screw over the American people just to spite the Dems.

The Republicans may be forced to give in eventually with the subsidies for health care ending in three weeks or so, but they seem more than willing to let it happen, and just blame it on the Dems because they don't want to concede anything to them.

Though, the Republicans could give in, but make it look like they aren't by claiming the Dems are holding the American people hostage, and then go ahead and agree on re-upping the subsidies to claim they are saving the people to be the heroes.

When have the DNC ever shown they have conviction, or a spine in the last 20 years?

They haven't really. I was kind of surprised they went ahead with this shutdown. The Democratic party remains in free fall right now. They have no identity. Other than Newsom and Pritzker taking on the Trump administration and AOC and Bernie getting some spotlight, the party seems to be feckless and untenanted. They wield little to no power and what little power they did have, they may have may have given it away by going with the shutdown because now Trump can run around unfettered, fire thousands, have more power to shutter departments, and permanently end funding for whatever he pleases. His administration and the Republicans are more than willing to keep this shutdown going. They don't give two damns about the people.

It takes some stones to run a black man, black woman and another woman for president...I call that conviction. Also the ACA under Obama and healthcare in general as well as civil rights legislation has been primarily a democratic or in Bernie's case independent platform. Public safety and social services wouldn't exist in our country without the democratic branch unfortunately....the alternative is a disaster so far. I'm talking over the last 20 years. Any semblance of reason has clearly abandoned the GOP.

The DNC needs new leadership. It needs to reinvent itself. It needs to be loud. It needs to echo the chagrin and the fury of the American people. It's platform needs to come back to the kitchen table and be about and for the people. But, all I see is a very awkward silence there and an unwillingness or reluctance to meet the moment. The people are weary. Lift us up. But, no....

I think the midterms will surprise folks. Newsome has taken the gloves off and turned Trump's playbook against him...I think that's a huge difference from Chuck Schumer mumbling over his Barbeque grill

I think he is referring to any willingness to play dirty. The Dems have always taken the higher ground and pointed stunned fingers, while the Republicans went low over and over again and have done what they want and have amassed power. The Republicans have played a whole different game. The higher ground doesn't seem to work anymore, if it ever did.

While the DNC showed great conviction to run with Obama, really they wanted Hillary and Obama came from nowhere. They screwed over Bernie to give Hillary her shot which failed. She lost to the worst candidate in the history of elections. Then, they ran Biden with Kamala who was able to beat Trump. But, they didn't learn. They ran Kamala when they shouldn't have. They should have had an expedited primary. They didn't.

This is isn't an either or thing. It's that the DNC is spineless wimps

We will see. Dems have been winning special elections, some in difficult places. We need more Dems to take their gloves off. The party needs to get loud.

Chucky Schumer needs to retire, like 8 years ago. We need fresh blood in the party. We need the next generation of vigorous, impassioned candidates, that stand up and call shit out for what it is and run on and for the people. The Democratic party needs hope and right now it's mostly crickets.

Imagine withholding military funds because you want to protect pedophiles.

If they had nothing to hide, they'd of sworn them in.

Or the other 19 times they had a chance to

Glad im morally better than anyone who supports trump.

I hate all the old heads in both parties. Really should be age limits (retirement age at best) for politicians.

They will have to swear her in eventually. The files will come out and Trump will continue to say it's a hoax perpetrated by the Dems.

They will probably release a version with only Dem names in the hopes those still I office, if there are any will have to resign. Those seats will have to be refilled via special elections which will take more time. We probably won't see the full unredacted version (victims names and info will remain redacted for sure) for a long time still probably.

There should be and term limits. Tired of seeing people in congress and senate that have been there 40 plus years. Doesn't seem right.
