Jerami revealed that he has been asked by the team about playing the 3.

Hmm. That suggests they're possibly considering going super big with him/Williams/Ayton.
I wonder if they think playing Williams at the 4 will ease some of his wear and tear, kind of like letting Joel lose his bulk to play lean.

I listened to Nurk's presser here in Phoenix. He was very respectful of Portland. Said he loved his time in Portland, learned a lot and was ready for the warm weather in Phoenix. Said something along the lines of "if anyone knows me, they know I love warm weather." Will be happy to play any role the Suns have for him. Knows it is a loaded team built for the long haul. Former Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowler Ron Wolfly was asking the majority of the questions. He was more interested in Nurks weight. Nurk said he is at 280, which is his target and preferred weight. Wolfly said he would love him at 290. They laughed and Nurk said that can be achieved in one meal. Wolfly was trying to get Nurk to talk about Ayton but he was having none of that. Said he is not here to replace anyone, just to do his job. It was the usual softball interview. Drew coming up soon.

Didn't Ayton say that he thinks he's actually a power forward?

Might be Grant/Ayton/Williams

I really hope not though.

Just now listening to these pressers…… I think I saw on here some people post about Matisse and feeling like he didn’t want to be here by the way he was answering questions….no way FAMS! Thats him, that’s his demeanor.
This dude is different and he might be my favorite Blazer right now. The guy is just eloquent in how he handles life. Polite, well spoken……great fucking dude and I will forever be a fan!
I think I posted on here how we met once we acquired him. Towards the end of the season in NOLA. I was walking along the river catching the sunset and look up and he is literally sitting under a tree reading a book of poetry. Chatted for a bit…..he is good people and I hope he is a Blazer for a long time.

Blah blah blah, wait til my book comes out.

I'm getting a used car dealer vibe from Scoot.
huh? What does that mean?

I loved his responses.

"I'm not trying to be the new Dame. This is a new era for a reason. I'm here to be Scoot Henderson."

Do you know who else had this kinda swagger in their rookie year? One Dame Lillard. Killer mentality and super confident.

Interesting. Thats what I got from Olshey…..don’t fell that way about Scoot at all. He came across as a young kid not sure what words to use, but that’ll come around.
I was impressed with how much Ant has grown. Maturing in front of our eyes.

Lol Shaedon is so awful in interviews. Sounds like he barely cares about anything, just so laid back. That's fine though, I'm sure media day sucks.

I don't care if he says both teams played hard as every answer, as long as he's having fun on the court and killin' it, I'll root for him.

dafuq? Either I'm out of my mind or you guys are thinking about someone else.

He literally just said he spent all summer in PDX getting settled.

Just a hunch is all... I'm definitely bringing a lot of my own baggage into this read.

Prior to drafting Ayton the local media had tons of conversations about is Ayton a PF? This was because at UA he said he prefers PF and UA played him with a twin tower lineup. Can't recall the other player. The story media was running with was that the Suns were not interested in him if he was a PF, only as a center. So to be drafted number one Ayton quickly started talking about what a dominating center he is and will be. I have no idea if any of it is true besides the media discussing it, but part of me has always seen Ayton as a PF that has to be forced to play Center. Regardless, he was a fifth option here putting up 18/10 and it is obvious he has a whole lot more, a whole other gear. It's just getting him there. I really hope it works for him in Portland. It can be a place for him to grow.

Some of my favorite quotes from media day...

Marang (I think it was Marang) - "DeAndre for people that aren't familiar with you in your game can you just kind of sum up what you bring to both sides of the floor and to the team in general?"

Ayton - "Dominance. I bring dominance. My name is DominAyton."

Thybulle - "I think for me, one of my vets was Tobias Harris and his willingness to share. I think up front it was nice to know that somebody cared enough to pour into me. And then down the road it helped to know I had a safe space to go to with any stupid questions. Because often times as a rookie you don't want to make a fool of yourself or you want to at least present as if you know what's going on and what you're doing, and 90% of the time you don't because this is brand new and it's a level of basketball that you've never experienced. So to have someone who has done it and been through it, that can talk you through it and also it's safe enough for you to ask the questions the questions that might seem really stupid is a really good thing. So I mean, for me I would love to do that for any of these young guys because I know how much it did for me."

This is why I wanted to keep him. I think he's going to be a great vet to have around this super young team.

Dusan Ristic

But we aren’t trying to win. Depth is amazing when you’re a playoff team, but this could stand in the way of getting minutes for Scoot or Shae.

Not trying to lose either.

Yes, I don't think we're going to openly tank... but then again, there's different kinds of tanking.

There's active tanking, which is what we were doing at the end of last season.

But it could be considered passive tanking when you play your young guys over your veterans. If we wanted to win, we'd play Brogdon/Simons/Thybulle/Grant/Ayton and we'd prioritize giving minutes to those veterans. But we want to develop our young guys and we are prioritizing that development. Putting development first, over winning, is a form of passive tanking.

True. We will some vets in the starting lineup.

I think the starting lineup will be Scoot, Shadeon, Thybulle, Grant, Ayton.

Sir/ma'am, you DO understand that Ant will be this teams FIRST option and their leading scorer this season. For you to think any of those players above will get more shot attempts than Ant are truly mistaken.
