Game Thread 4/29/17 Game 2 New York Rangers vs Ottawa Senators

I don't see a shot they win this series if they lose today, but crazier things have happened I guess.

Can we please stop blaming the coaching and game planning. F*ck we had a two goal lead with 3 minutes left. Blame the f'ing players and honestly Hank today. Guy allowed 5 goals. Put it on the players.

Amazing we blew that game. And again Ottawa has all the momentum into OT.
Are you serious??? As a coach, if you see your players laying back and not pushing it (and you have told them to keep pushing) you are responsible for getting the plan across by reminding them or yelling at them and reigniting the fire under them. Those last 3 minutes all this team did was collapse into the defensive shell that cost them game 2 against Montreal. Good thing AV held that timeout instead of reminding his players to be aggressive.

Would've never predicted a 6-5 final in this one. In Washington tonight yes but not in Ottawa. Some weird bounces and tips in front yes but Lundqvist has been awful today.

They had Mcd, Girardi and their better defensive forwards out there. Not sure who you wanted on the ice. It's the same tune when Stepan is on the ice late.
The players on the ice were the right ones at the end, but for the last 3 minutes we did NOTHING to control play and allowed Ottawa to take control as we sat in our defensive zone and iced the puck over and over again.

Okay...it is the coaches fault we blew a two goal lead with 3 minutes left. I give up...you guys are right.

I was out all day and just got in..wtf they blew a 2g lead in the last 3 min?wow

Chuck i told you this was going to be a bitch of a series.

At what point do you as a coach see what is happening with the flow of the game and call a timeout to remind the players what they need to do and give them a mental rest to refocus? AV shoudve called a timeout after the icing because that was the game. If we control the faceoff and don't ice the puck we win. If players were all knowing and didn't need coaches pushing them and gameplanning with them then why do we even have a coach? This is a SHARED blame. You can't let AV off the hook. It's on him AND the players. The players stopped pushing. He didn't reignite the fire under their asses to get them back to being aggressive. Dual blame.

Hayes was one of the idiots out there and so was Girardi who had a bad game. How about putting smith out there who has been of the better d-men. Anyway, it is on both coaches and the players. Like I said before. Half of this roster needs to be flashed down the toilet in the offseason.

Hayes is out there for the faceoff. He's one of the better faceoff men. The issue with him is he broke his stick and then did nothing.

This game is either ending in the first 7 minutes or it's going to double OT lol.

A lot of bad bounces and defections have found there way in but Hank needed to be better today. Didn't know it at the time but that first goal was a sign.

Hayes with ANOTHER fucking turnover. And if Smith just shoots it's a goal and game over.

Instead of being aggressive Skjei puck handles with no purpose for 15 seconds in our zone. Unreal. Are we all really that dumb when we have an extra guy or is it coaching?

Also, why the hell was Hayes on the PP? He's useless.

Anderson is just TRYING to give this game away but we refuse to want to win

All 5 Ottawa guys are below the circles. Our dmen need to see that and sneak in for a goal chance.

I didn't see regulation but im guessing our 'finely aged' dmen had something to do with not holding up late.

It is kind of funny when you look at it.

I didn't think we had much of a great shot to beat Montreal because of our undisciplined and lack of structure play. Somehow we were able to put it together and play well against Montreal and beat them in 6.

Then we go into this series and I feel like okay we got this for sure. Ottawa is nothing great, everyone is picking us (which worried me), and we should win this series. Through 6 periods I think we were the better team, but the sloppy unstructured play is back. I didn't expect it after the Montreal series. And Ottawa deserves credit also for taking full advantage and staying the course and continuing to push and force the play. Good for them.

I am more frustrated than upset really. I didn't see these two games coming against Ottawa. Frustrated as heck.
