So that's what it takes to finally get put on ignore by MARIS.

I'm impressed, Boob-No-More. You waded through page after page of this dreck, responding to bizarre theories, courting insanity, wasting countless hours writing well-reasoned logic that was never going to be actually processed by your subject. And you finally won the prize.

It was hard enough just occasionally skimming through it all. I know I couldn't begin actually responding to it. Bravo, my good man. Bravo.

I didn't expect support from you, but it's nice to see objectivity.

From this we can obviously agree Blake should start since he's less TO prone.

Sergio should be traded for so he can come off the bench since he's more likely to assist other players scoring.

And Old Man Miller isn't the best at anything so he should probably retire at this point.

BTW, your "net gain" is a mythical figure as TO's and Ast's aren't comparable points-wise.

An assist is always worth a minimum of 2 points, often 3 points and once in awhile 4 points.

A TO results in the opponent scoring only about 44% of the time.

And a Turnover assures you of not scoring 100% of the time.

Andre Miller's stat lines

First off, I haven't watched a single preseason game. But the box scores bother me. First Miller takes 18 shots and only dishes out 4 assists and then tonight, he only plays 16 minutes but manages to take the most shots of anyone on the team??? What is up with that? We didn't bring the guy in to lead us in scoring, did we? But all I'm looking at is a box score. Tell me what's going on.

I doubt he'll lead the team in scoring or shots during the regular season, unless we have LaMarcus, Greg, Rudy and Batum all injured, and Roy and Travis each sucking shit when it comes to shooting.

Re: Andre Miller's stat lines

Maybe Miller is using the pre-season as a shooting practice since he hadn't touched a basketball this summer. Hopefully, when the real games roll around, he won't be so trigger happy.

Re: Andre Miller's stat lines

kingspeed looking at stat lines? GASP!

Re: Andre Miller's stat lines

A lot of times I saw tonight, Brandon or Jerryd had the ball in the final seconds of the shot clock and instead of putting up the shot, they passed it out to Andre who had to take the jump shot, which looked pretty ugly. I believed he airballed one in the first half. He just isn't a standstill jump shooter.

Re: Andre Miller's stat lines

Oh god, here we go again. In addition to not watching any of the games, it sounds like you haven't been following this forum either. This should be merged with the Miller stat thread from Sunday's game as it's the exact same topic.

Re: Andre Miller's stat lines

*hears Maris making a fucking B-Line to this thread*

Re: Andre Miller's stat lines

Let's wait to see if this continues in the regular season before we stress out about it.

Re: Andre Miller's stat lines

That's it, the Blazers are officially done. Let's start guessing where the draft lottery party is gonna be

Re: Andre Miller's stat lines

Nate had Miller playing the SG in most of the Offensive sets tonight. I think part of the reason we are n't seeing many Assists from any of our PG's this season is our offensive flow as a whole is really bad. We lived on the jumper last year and so far those Jump shooters haven't been shooting well.

Have some stones and don't run away from your statements. Only trolls do what you're doing.

It is clear you were referring to us and nobody else. If you want to keep playing this infantile game, simply name the posters you referring to if they are not PapaG and me.

If you are now afraid to back it up you should just run off to Olive. You'll fit right in there, troll.

You can argue it until your red in the face. But, the fact is, Sergio is a shitty NBA player.

WTF? Well, I guess he's been playing SG as the PG, so he may as well be a SG who can't actually shoot.

11 shots in 16 minutes with 2 assists? Blake with 2 assists in 21 minutes? Deron Williams blowing by both of them at will.

I thought PG was a strength this year. I hope they work this out ASAP.

Deron Williams > Miller/Blake... I think everyone could agree on that.

I was hoping J-bay could be thrown in there, to body up against Deron. I'm sure Deron would still school him, but it would be a good measure of J-bay's man 2 man. In other words, we already know that Blake and Miller suck at defense, they usually always have no? but we havent seen Jbay go against those guys yet.......

More than 18,000 people were watching the two I saw (including the Denver game that spawned this thread).

Yet you're the person spending all day questioning posters showing concern over a "PG" who is 8-29 with 6 assists over his last two games. He only played 16 minutes in one of these games, and he shot the ball 11 times before turning an ankle.

This isn't a Blake vs. Miller thing. This is a "what is going on here" thing. I hope it changes.

I mentioned this in the game thread . . . I agree with this. Miller is not the kind of player that gets the ball and all he is looking to do is shoot. Just the opposite, he is looking to get the offense moving and find the open man.

He did end up with the ball a few times with the clock winding down (I counted 2 air balls by Miller in the first half). His jump shot is not pretty and he is slower than I had hoped, but he has good court sense and will help the team this year.

So, the incredible amount of shots taken by Miller this preseason is the fault of his teammates? Am I reading this correctly?

Seems to me he should be getting his scorers the ball in position to score.

That what it seemed like to me from the box scores . . . until I watched a game.

It's an eleven year pattern.

So, suddenly Roy and the gang won't shoot, and they defer to Andre Miller when the clock runs tight?

This is actually worse than I thought. Why the f**k is anybody defering to Andre Miller on a short clock? HE CAN'T SHOOT. It's not like Blake hitting a 3 late in the clock on a ball rotation.

I'd rather see Miller putting shots up early in the clock to let the best offensive rebounding team in the league grab some easy boards/buckets if he's going to shoot more than anybody else.

For some reason (pre-season?) Roy isn't being as assertive as last year.

From what I saw, when the clock is running down and the player with the ball doesn't have a shot, Miller is usually in position to recieve the ball. I think you will see that Miller has good court sense and a soild understanding of spacing on the court.

But I'm not here praising Miller as the savior or saying that he turned out be better than the other players the Blazers went after. In fact my thought during yesterday's game was how Hedo really could have helped this team and I see why the Blazers jumped all over trying to sign him.

Miller as a product of all this talk about this summer and cap flexibility is actually a bit disappointing to me . . . but he will help the team and brings a skill the Blazers didn't have . . . and that is my take on Miller from a game that was terrible. I can see why some posters on this board are as excited as they are about him on the team.

He's "adapting" to Miller. Roy needs to realize that he is the franchise player and that Miller is at best a 3 year solution, and at worst trade bait within six months.
