Well, I found out about most of what happened second-hand before I came here. I only knew that something had happened with the OT forum, that Maxie had been banned, and that ABM had been banned after he sent some PM's (I got one).

I hit up a friend (I'm not saying who) and they told me about this place. I didn't know that HCP had been banned.

I started posting on BBB.net in 2003 when I first started covering the team. I didn't post much because I wanted to try to keep a professional relationship with you guys (writer/reader). After I stopped writing I pretty much let it all hang out :grin:

Things kinda went to shit on that site after the transition to BBF. It has never been the same site. A lot of the posters there now don't even know my history on that site, or that I covered the team. Some of them might know me as the douche that got Greg Oden in trouble lol.

Anyway, maybe I'll wait until the forum is packed during a game or something and write a post about my migration over to S2. Of course it will be deleted, but maybe I can get the word out for a couple minutes. :devilwink:
 
Just saw that I had received a PM about this place about a week ago. It's nice to have an alternative to the old site. (And it's good to see some of the names here, too!)

Just in time for the season, no less.

When and why were you banned? Who else has been banned? ABM and maxiep. I heard taht XericX was banned as well. Anybody else? It seems like there was at least one more, but I'm not positive.

I was banned for a short time. I believe there's a thread here about it.

I just mentioned that our Olympic team was all black guys. I said if we were to send an "All White" team, who would be on it? Some guy from Michigan banned me calling me a RACIST! ME!??!? My boy Dan talked to him and I guess the guy changed his mind.

I also immigrated from the isle de BBF. I have been part of the forum community for a long time and am quite glad that this exodus has happened. I never got banned from that site, but I always wished I did.

You may remember me from Fanhome, then bbb then BBF as either toshi, thylo, Nate McVillian and now GOD.

By the way, I went over to the other site today, and although they have a lot of people on line, nobody is posting over there. kind of gave me a giggle.

I decided to look over there, as you guys have talked about it a lot. It didn't look that bad, although the posting didn't seem to be real fast paced (but the same is true of here).

And as a poster who never posted there (and hasn't posted a lot here), I wouldn't exactly be bragging about this site considering some of the subjects in the OT forum that are towards the top. We aren't exactly Mensa members here, our shit stinks too.

My point? As someone who isn't a member of the cult, it's kind of getting old hearing about the "other" site. If it's so bad, quit talking about it. You don't see me talking about my ex wife anymore (ooh, Diane...how I miss you..er..)

GOD just joined here. He was posting with many of us there for nearly six years. If you don't understand why he wouldn't make a post or two about it then I don't know what to tell you.

I hear you man, and i'm sure the whole thing will die down soon enough. But this thread does happen to be about the "BBF.com refugees" so I think this is a good place to gab on the subject. Just letting all my forum friends know that I made it over here.

On another note, as the season draws nearer and and we have a hefty grab-bag full of topics to choose from, I think you will be very pleased with the knowledgeable defectors that start posting up a storm. I know I look forward to shooting the breeze with you as the season progresses.
 
Another BBF deserter here. It was getting really boring over there. I like this site and I'm glad to have found you all. I was very happy to see some familiar names when I logged on.

TPF, great to see you over here! We haven't interacted much, but I've always done my fair share of lurking on BBF.com and have always appreciated your posts.

When I saw you and ABM banned, I had to move on. I didn't post much in the political discussions on BBF, but I read all the threads, and FWIW, you and I share almost identical political beliefs. I'll be looking forward to reading more of your takes in the future.

lol. Well, ever since Bonzi Wells proclaimed that Blazer fans "needed to be more professional" (after he flipped us off), I decided to go pro in my fandom. Now he can't complain about my lack of professionalism. :)
