If NY keeps losing they will sell for cheap. Draft picks, Meyers, T Rob, Freeland, Claver, do what ever you have to do, just make it happen. Chandler won put the Mavs over the top with a similar team and he's still young enough that he could do the same here, and Shumpert is exactly what the Blazers need. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this happen Paul Allen

31 is young in basketball age?

I like Chandler, but the injuries concern me.

Your trade - http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kzv7yta

So an injured center and a sg who shoots 33% from the field is the answer?

Risk/reward! Pull the trigger!! You can't predict injuries, we are due to get some breaks.

Don't say "can't predict injuries" in a blazer forum. Have you learned nothing?

Or, "Due to get some breaks". You're just tempting things now.

Again, I like Chandler, but the last thing we need to do is take any of the depth we have (whether good or not) and trade for a injury prone guy with now NO depth behind that. You trade Meyers and Freeland we now have Chandler as our only big down low coming off the bench (with Robinson now as our only 4). I understand all trades have risk/reward... but IF either of Lopez or Chandler go down we are now royally screwed and are having to get 10 day contract guys.

Chandler is not injury prone! Where are you getting this from? Stop worrying about the Blazers past. The guy will be back 100% soon.

Yes. if you actually watch basketball and realize Shumpert is being used wrong and Chandler is not injury prone you would agree.

Oh ok I will start watching. So the 15 million dollars in salary to trade for these guys......who will that be? That will win us the title?

It is interesting, on his BBref site he has played in a lot of games recently with NYK, even though it seems he hasn't. 08-10 though, he didn't play often. Trying to recall if it was from injury.

The fact is, though, is he does seem oft injured. Maybe it's inundation of the media, but I've watched plenty of Knicks game where he hasn't played. Although he's played 60+ in the last two years. No idea how that is.

Though, to be fair, he's only played in 9 of the close to 30 games this year.

From an injury.... I don't know where I get that from when he's injured. :dunno: boggles my mind. 08-10 he missed a lot of time, too.

Fine, don't make the trade. Lose in the first or at best second round. Congrats.

One thing you need to do is to calm down with the emotional stuff.

I mean, 5 players for 2? Now we have at most 8 people on our bench and have to fill the rest up with scrubs. Older people are more prone to injuries, it's just fact and father time. We lose either Lopez or Chandler (who again, I'm not opposed to getting. I'm concerned. Don't let your emotions cloud that.) for any length of time and now we have the other playing 35+ minutes with Trob has our only other one playing center (or LMA).

I know we're in a win now mode, and I don't mind the trade. It just scares me. Realize what I said there before you get defensive.

The risk is worth the reward! You don't get many chances like this, especially in the NBA! You have to make this move in my opinion.

So what would you do if we do this trade and then that scenario plays out where one has something go wrong and Lopez or Chandler play 35+?

Again... not opposed to the trade. There just needs to be calculated risks with being a 24-6 team... This one just gives me some willies (along with some hope, mind you.)

You can't think about "what If's"!!!! If you see an opportunity to win a title in the NBA where it's bascially impossible to win won or else you got MJ, Kobe, Duncan or LBJ you take it. If it fails then fine! You still got Lillard and LMA and you can always build off that.

So, lets look at the players we have after this trade.

Lillard/Mo
LMA/Robinson
Wes/CJ
Batum/Shumpert
Lopez/Chandler

That's not bad. I don't mind it. We lose quite a bit going from Batum to Shumpert, IMO. And Wes/CJ is a big drop off, same with LMA/Robinson. Our depth at C gets answered, but we are razor thin in 2 or 3 positions, taxing our starters even more, with the exception of Lillard and Lopez, IMO.

Shumpert is as bad as Wright, maybe worse. I like having Chandler, though. And we still haven't taken care of Bad Mo.

What about something dumb like trying to take on Lin and Asik? Lin's way better than Mo.

Chandler would be great but if we got him then Chandler hands down starts over Lopez.

We would need a 3rd or 4th team to get involved to have any chance at trading for Chandler.

CJ is a stud! Better then any of or current bench players. Shumpert is just as good or better defender then Nick. Your nuts if you don't think this makes us title contenders, it does. Chandler alone makes us title contenders. He changes games, yet he is stuck in purgatory, We would win the title or at least get to the finals. PERIOD.

You can write it down any way you want but Chandler would not take a back seat to Lopez and nor should he.

That's bold on both accounts. CJ hasn't played an NBA minute yet.
