OT Adam Silver Warns Teams About Tanking, Says NBA Will Closely Monitor Their Play

I really don't like this whole debate. I don't think they are solving anything.

I don't care that San Antonio tanked for a couple years and got good players. I don't care that OKC traded for good picks.

I don't understand why anybody cares. No matter what rules you make somebody is going to game them.

Crazy how two small market teams in OKC and SAS were able to rebuild so quickly and successfully. Sucks the Blazers can't follow that blue print.

We haven't had the right ownership to have any real vision for a while. Couldn't see the forest for the trees.

Kinda sounds like we may still be stuck with that. Or maybe not...

True. Or the right GM.

Idk sounds like Dundon didn't buy this team to be content with losing. He wants to win. I think they are going to try and trade Sharpe, Grant, and our pick if we get it for a star level player.

I'm not sure if that's going to be enough to put us into contention... Maybe.

Enough to beat OKC and San Antonio? Not likely...

The key phrase here is "going to try and trade" some lesser stuff for something much greater. Of course every team's management is always trying to do that, no one wants do the reverse and Portland isn't the sort of destination that players are trying to maneuver their careers to. Thus far Shaedon hasn't been a very efficient scorer and besides making highlight plays, he's average at best at the rest of the game. It's laughable to me that posters continue to contend the team should explore trading Grant as if teams are clamoring for a mediocre, oft injured 32 year old with 2 years left on an escalating massive deal. Maybe in a year he'll gain some trade value as an expiring contract. Those 2 and a 1st for an established star seems very unrealistic.

I'm sure Dundon wants to make his mark and it's very likely there is player movement this offseason but I'm hopeful his management isn't just making big moves for the sake of it. Hold onto your assets until a real opportunity presents itself... like Deni, Tou & Drew. To me, Drew and RWIII are the two most likely chips they'll deal.

Why don't you call Jrue, "Jrue"?
