Aldridge has quit

The SA game should've been a jumpstart to a win streak but he doesn't care. He's never believed in our playoff chances like Lillard and Matthews do. He's just walking through the rest of the season. He should've stepped up and played like a monster tonight but he didn't. He is garbage. I'm done with him.

Frick'n quitter.

Go Blazers

He pays someone to read our board and summarize our complaints. This has been proven. So he knows he has to try harder against Monroe and the crappy Pistons on our home court. Not impressed. (Hi, LaMarcus' peon. Get me a free hat, will ya?)

Maybe off-topic but does anyone believe anything this poster writes? I notice not many respond to him/her either. Help a new guy out. Is it a shtick?

Plenty respond to me!

Of course it's a schtick!

What's that?

Yes

See Rook, around here, anyone with your number of posts hasn't received the introductory tour. A year from now, ask me and I'll let you in on the gossip about which teams and sports you should never visit on Sports Two. Nobody goes to the dark cobweb boards and there was a murder 2 years ago when some rookie went somewhere in Sports Two where no one ever goes, so check with me first for your own safety.

LMA has quit!!! :MARIS61:

There are at least four "regulars" on this board that are trolls at this point. It gets tiresome. At least I learned how to dial down my criticisms three years ago, and don't put on a clown show like jlprk's and KingSpeed's at this point.

2 years ago, you were working hard on getting rid of Andre Miller and keeping Pritchard, calling those disagreeing with you clowns. What has remained constant is your disdain for everyone on this board, and for change in general.

I turned around on Miller and starting appreciating his strengths, and last I checked, Indiana is a much better team under Pritchard than the Blazers are today, and they have done it without Danny Granger. Plus, I don't have disdain for 'everyone' on this board. My disdain is just the obvious trolls, such as you. :)

You hated Miller.

You hated Miller.

I turned around on Miller in January of his last year in Portland. Started not dwelling on his weaknesses, and started appreciating his strengths. It was a paradigm shift in terms of how I viewed him. Look up my posting history from the last half-season of Miller. Why get mad because he can't shoot? He just can't shoot, but did other things very well.

Look at my posts from that time period. Advanced posters, such as me, can learn to adjust their appreciation of players. Basic posters, such as you, start silly threads titled "Aldridge Has Quit", and then act offended and lash out when called on that idiotic premise.

Well, I guess if we're going to have any hope of making the playoffs we need Aldridge at his best. Hope he keeps it up.

I think this is how we need Aldridge all season. I hope he can finish this season strong like we've seen so far in March. I doubt there would be any haters if Aldridge would just play at this level all season long. I've noticed his shots outside of 10 feet have dropped considerably. That's a really good sign!

Exactly. If he averaged 20 and 10 you would hear very few people complaining about him.

LaMarcus Aldridge has always been a slow starter and comes into form as the season progresses. Which is a good thing, if we were making the playoffs. Maybe people have forgotten this because he got hurt at the end of the season last year.

But during the first half of the season, there are always Aldridge detractors, and he more times than not make them look foolish by the home stretch of the season.

I don't think many would care if his points dropped to a more efficient 18 ppg, but averaged a 10-12 rebound per season either.

It's the blocks I'm encouraged about. I couldn't care less about him averaging over 8 boards if he was putting up 2 or 3 blocks per game.

I wish Batum and Aldridge worked a 2 man game on the defensive end. Maybe work together on timing and who is doing what. I think that would increase both player's defensive efficiency. Batum is heady enough to really force players to go into the teeth of the D. Aldridge should be timing the rotation so he is there for the block. When he is facing you on the help D, Aldridge is actually very good with blocks. It's when he must turn around and make a decision to take the chance is where he sucks.

This is where I think a good defensive coach would do wonders for this team. The guy would only need to find the positioning for the defenders to be in the best possible position for the d. I think our current coaches are just relying on their athleticism and skill than actually making it easier for them.

It was driving me up the fucking wall watching Will Bynum and Rodney Stuckey get into the paint at will the other night. We desperately need a defensive presence in the middle. Hickson wasn't doing shit.

But the thing is, there are teams undersized that protect the paint in recent history. I think there needs to be more trapping from the guards. We are either playing zone of man up. There are hardly any traps or doubles ever. Hickson could be trained to body, while our wing closest to him, immediately traps the player, then goes back to his man the moment the big passes out. If they are on Aldridge; he is fine playing man D.

Hopefully he'll average more than 10-12 rebounds per season. 10-12 rebounds per game would be much better, like 82 times better.
