I would really like to see Aldridge get the majority of back-up minutes at center. Lopez should be a 25-28 MPG center; which leaves 20-23 minutes at center. If Aldridge could lower his minutes to around 35 per game; I would like 20 minutes at PF and 15 minutes at center. I understand Leonard will only get around 5 per game, but he's not at a level I'm comfortable being the back-up.

That would give T. Rob 20-25 minutes at PF; which I believe would be a God send. At 20-25 minutes, and making damn sure he's not trying to shoot from the elbow; he could easily be a 10/10/1 guy off the bench.

Anyone else wanna crack on the BIGs rotation?

Playing Aldridge at center will just wear on him. This is why Tim Duncan didn't want to play center for the Spurs.

Duncan played a lot of center for the Spurs. Are you high?

At center; Aldridge had a PER of 27.9 as opposed to his 19.7 at PF.
On defense, he held the other team's PF to a 16.8 (+3); which holding the center to a 12.8 (+15).

This fucking argument that Aldridge shouldn't play center is stupid!

But that's the thing, it's not. Aldridge has said he wants a space eating 5 who will bang
(Hibbert, Oden type) to play next to and that he doesn't want to play Center.
You say you want LMA to stay. Well how are you going to accomplish that by not keeping him happy?
Also Mags, newsflash, the Blazer brass doesn't care about your level of comfort when it comes to Leonard's backup minutes.
Especially when they are trying to develop him. Which Center have we ever drafted that didn't need years of development?

Not anymore stupid than not being comfortable with Leonard playing 5 minutes a game. The second unit has lower defensive requirements and Leonard could really score some points with the right squad (namely PG).

He didn't say position. He just said "BIG". If a player like T. Rob can become like a Brian Grant; I don't think he would mind playing center. Its just that Hickson wasn't much of a defensive center

Hickson had a 22.7 PER at PF, but gave up 19.1 (+3.6). At center, Hickson had a 20.6, but gave up 20.4 (+0.2).

If T. Rob gave us a 18 PER at PF and gives up 14; then playing him more and moving Aldridge to center would be a plus.

There will be games when Leonard will have more than 5 a game; but the crucial games, he shouldn't see any more than that. I know a lot of you guys have big hard ons for Leonard; but its important to win games. T. Rob is further along than Leonard and we have a great center back-up already in Aldridge. Show me another center that can give you that high of a + over centers they face?

Hello kids and welcome, I have the solution. I've spent many hours devising this strategy and it will give us all what we want, playing Aldridge 0 minutes at center, letting Meyers stay out of the game so he can practice threes and giving Mrs. Robinson a large role.

Here it is, play Robinson at center; then have Aldridge sometimes switch on defense and guard the other teams center while always being called the power forward.

Based on their skillsets, this is essentially what I think is going to happen. Leonard is more Aldridge's backup at PF, and Robinson is basically Lopez's backup at center. Who cares how tall they are; what's more important is how big they play.

Lol

I know, it was really funny when I typed it.

I have no idea why you assumed everyone has a "hard on" for Leonard when 90% of the posts about Leonard are bashing him.:lol::lol:

Also, it's "important to watch games?" I'm willing to bet you've seen TRob play much less than Leonard. How many Sacramento or Houston games did you watch last year? Or are you basing your opinion on 5 summer league games?

Nope I am basing my opinion on the scouting reports. Until Leonard can show me he is capable of rebounding efficiently; I stand with what i posted.

We should trade Aldridge for Reggie Evans, he's such an efficient rebounder. :biglaugh:

I think the only way a guy like Meyers improves is if he is given more than 5 minutes a game. Probably closer to 15-20 minutes a game. And if he is the 'star' many say he is going to be, why not? Do you really believe deep down this roster is going to make a serious advancement from last year? This is a year to develop your players in preparation for better things to come.

First off.... Welcome to the forum! The more the merrier!

Okay, lets assume we give Leonard 10-15 minutes a game; but apply that to the PF minutes. We should still move Aldridge as the center reserve. I think Leonard playing PF is better suited for his type of game. That could still give Robinson and Leonard shared duties for both PF/C of around 33 minutes. 10-15 minutes for Leonard and 20-25 minutes for T. Rob.

Well...Thanks. It's good to be here.

I think Meyers and his body better are suited at five. This doesn't mean I am opposed to see him play some four but I think a larger percentage of his minutes needs to be at five. I mean that's why we acquired him I'm thinking.

I am willing to bet a cool nickel (outside chance you'll never get it if I win) that Aldridge is gone before the season

He's a 2nd year C who is 20 years old. He doesn't have a type of game yet.

mags im sorry I have to be the one to tell you but I think sometime before the start of the season you are going to have to accept that Meyers is going to get decent minutes at the back up center position. probably before LMA plays center..

Now that is a straw man. ;)

Actually no, that was in response to the "straw man argument" that we should have traded Aldridge for a rebounder; because I said Leonard needs to rebound more. Maybe you didn't catch that?
