Aldridge wants to play in Chicago?

I think the chances of a LMA for Noah deal is zero.

I don't think the Bulls are giving up Mirotic either. The only rumor I've seen is Deng and the Charlotte pick.

Why would Portland have two SFs on a large contract?

Rumors suck, mostly.

One thing people never mention when talking about Jordan is that he has a 15% trade kicker so his contract goes from 11m a year to 13m a year. Goes from a bad almost horrible contract to outright abysmal.

That's not a rumor, that's a wish.

Still, I'm sure that would land you Viktor Khryapa and Tyrus Thomas, and that's just as good as Aldridge, right?

And the 20/10 ROY Elton Brand got us the 2nd pick in the draft.

You run the risk of LMA getting you nothing. When he's on his last year, teams figure they can sign him as a FA and give up nothing.

You might not like Boozer, but he started on an injury riddled team and was a huge part of the 45 wins and defeat of NJ to advance in the playoffs.

Maybe it's silly to you, but trading the front court of that 45 win team for half the front court of the 33 win team is an upgrade for the 33 win team.

You'd play Deng at PF.

Look: the only reason for taking Deng would be as a favor to Chicago. Otherwise we'd demand Taj Gibson and you'd have to amnesty Boozer first to absorb the salary. Deng is a good player, but he's overpaid and injury prone, and isn't likely to stay past his soon-expiring contract. He's balast to balance the trade. So don't think of him as an asset. He's an asset to the Bulls, and would be to some other teams, like San Antonio, but not to us. But yes, if it did happen, he would start at PF because we're that shallow. And hey, he's a better version of Harrison Barnes.

This whole rumor was cooked up by some agent or other, but if it has any chance of happening then the Bulls are going to have to throw in Mirotic (given that nobody listened to me when I said draft him over Nolan OR Faried) and either accept that we view taking Deng as a favor, or trade Deng to someone else so that you can just absorb Aldridge's salary in a lopsided trade.

Wow.

We'll take that risk, thanks.

You might not like Boozer,

At this point, his own mother doesn't like him. What are you going to say when they amnesty him?

Let's swap coaches and see what happens to the win totals.

Did you not read that article or did you conveniently skip over that it was merely McGraw's idea?

BACK of the line, Denny!

Deng played 40+ minutes a game and was an all star. He's paid several $million below MAX. One losing season his whole career. Same age as LMA.

My preference would be to trade him to Sacto for Jason Thompson and S&T Tyreke Evans. They need a SF, we need a SG and backup C.

McGraw has been covering the Bulls for a really big newspaper for at least 15 years. Nobody in the organization would talk to him, right? He has no clue what management is thinking. /greenfont

"Here's one way to get Portland's attention"

Ok, Denny.

:smack:

All true. Still of very limited value round the league, I think you'll find.

Wow. I think the Bulls should be happy you don't get your way. I have a feeling those players wouldn't see much PT under Thibodeau.

Lmao at not liking Aldridge instead of deng. I thought I was a homer!

You don't read, eh?

We really need a 21/9 PF to go with the 16.2/10 PF we already have, and the $9M backup PF, and the other two PFs on the roster.

No you get the best player you can get and trade the others. The goal is to have the best at the position and Aldridge is light years better than any big you have on your team. That includes noah

Yeah, nevermind defense.

Awesome insight.

But it's a good idea for Portland to bring in another highly paid SF when we already have a $10m/per SF on the roster.

Awesome insight.

Taj plays defense, yet Thibs plays Boozer more (2nd on the team in minutes). And the Bulls were near last in scoring, terrible on the fast break, etc.

The Bulls beat the Nets without Deng, Hinrich, and Noah on a sore foot and limited minutes. Defense didn't win.

And no PF if you move LMA.

Weak on your part.

If the Blazers move LA they'll get a big in the package.

And no, Deng is not a PF.

I don't buy that Aldridge wants to be traded. What Aldridge wants is for Paul Allen to grow a pair and spend like he did in 2000 or like how Mikhail Prokhorov is doing in Brooklyn so that the Blazers can be championship contenders NOW AND NOT LATER!!!:chestbump:

Good luck.

The team that gets him probably wants to extend his contract, or it'd be a 2 year rental. It will be a worse situation after this season.

Seems the Bulls are one of the teams he actually wants to play for.

Neil will get value.

The Bulls are one of the teams, not the only team, but that's pretty irrelevant -- the blazers have to get the most out of LMA as they can.

The Cavs offer is a lot better and that was rejected. Believe it or not, there is a big market for LA.
