Aldridge's Camp Discuss Trade Possibilities

I am talking the same. Lopsided cap deals whether in trade or signings. I hope we break the trend but you have to admit we have had very little (if any) luck with this in the past even when having cap space.

See I don't know about that. We offered the max to Hibbert and he verbally accepted it and that was just last summer. It's not like it can't happen and I suspect the new CBA will help the small market teams with 1.) Keeping their stars and 2.) Obtaining other stars.

Technically he didn't accept it (other then verbally - which is not binding) but yes he would have so that is a start.

The only reason why it wasn't "accepted" was both sides didn't want to bind up free-agency; so they accepted the outcome. If Indy said "We will not match" he would have been a Blazer.

The big deal is in 2 years. If teams are in the luxury, it's 3 times the luxury amount. being 5-10 mil in the luxury could cost teams 15-30 more million. That's a big hit

Waiting (and hoping) for a sign & trade is a bad option - do teams ever get any real value in return on S&Ts?
Previously I was willing to wait until the Trade Deadline, but now I think we should trade him prior to Training Camp as long as a good deal comes across Olshey's desk.

Yawn, this story is so boring already. Are we really in for another two years of this?

Again, a direct quote from the article:

"Aldridge told CSNNW.com that he did not request a trade and we confirmed that as being fact."

Please provide a link or a direct quote that proves otherwise.

BNM

No link, I am making it all up

The last few years Quick has shown complete frustration with everything he does. (Articles, Interviews, social media) His job has gotten to him. Some guys get burned out with dealing with fans and athletes. He needs to move on for his own good.

So are people still going to deny reality, or will they finally admit that Aldridge is looking for a way out?

Trade him now and get a high draft pick in 2014. No point in going a pointless .500.

Trade Leonar while you're at it.

x2 LA's value (in trade) starts to decline now....

No they are friends and they are both shaking their heads at the bull shit rumor. Before that Aldridge was talking shit to Crawford about this rumor.

no, Crawford was telling him happy birthday today, and Aldridge told him it was tomorrow, and Crawford blamed it on his phone telling him it was the 19th, and Aldridge telling Crawford no, he messes it up every year.

So is quick leaving?

@magnifier661 @CHold Sigh. It's boners like this that I will miss the most ...

OMG when can we have the party to celebrate?

Lets track it. What do you think is available now? We can check back and compare what will be available before the draft next year, and then again in two years if we complete a sign and trade and/or sign a FA with the cap space. That way we can see when his value actually declined.

I think it all depends on just how strong his game is next season. If he is anywhere near 20+/10+/3+/1+; his value will increase drastically. ALSO, if he is working the low block more and really getting his points 10ft from the basket, will really bring his value up too.

Let's assume that right now, Golden State offered either Barnes or Thompson and Bogut or Lee. That would be the first starting point via start of free agency.

I don't really agree. People know what he can do. He's not a player you need to showcase to trade. That makes sense with younger guys, or guys who haven't been given opportunity, or have not started. But everyone knows who LMA is and what he can do. GOing out and averaging 40 points or 15 points doesn't change that a whole lot.

I totally disagree. Many complained that Aldridge shot too many times from the perimeter. And if he was averaging 40/15; he would be even more valuable than we could ever imagine.

No iteration of that trade could possibly be as valuable to us as LaMarcus.

But that was part of Stotts' offense, having him shoot outside. Any GM would look at how LMA, the player he knows, would fit into what his coach runs. They've seen him on the block. Him doing it for a month to start the season isn't going to be showing off a new found skill. If he shows that he can actually dribble, that might be different. Or if he showed fantastic range from 3. But just putting him on the block, or him averaging 20/10 does very little.
