Free Agent Allen Crabbe's options

Brooklyn was rumored to be interested but offered Tyler Johnson a 4-yr/$50 million dollar deal. It looked like he may be going there but with Miami losing Wade, suddenly The Heat have a lot more money to match. If they don't match, they are some $24 million under the cap and need a SG replacement.

What other teams have a lot of cap space and need a SG/SF?

Philly has been rumored in the past, and I would imagine are still an option. Last I heard they were trying to get Rudy to return to the NBA, but if he doesn't, they'll still have a Crabbe-shaped hole at SG.

Isn't next year's FA class suppose to be pretty good. If I am Miami I would not match Tyler Johnson's deal. Tank for a year, get a decent lottery pick and go all in for a couple top free agents. (Assuming Bosh retires) The difference between our situation and Miami's, is they can tank and recover quickly because Miami is a FA destination.

Portland btw is far from being the only franchise who struggles landing top FA's. I was listening to someone in Denver complain about their situation last night. I think it is more the norm than not.

Based on that, I would say Philly is definitely still an option for Crabbe.
Also, with OJ Mayo being "dismissed", the Bucks could probably use a replacement.
Who do the Nuggets have at SG? Will Barton and Jamal Murray? They definitely have the cap space, but perhaps not the roster space.

• Boston for example, as mentioned, has cap room, but they also have Thomas, Bradley, and Smart at the guard spots; why would they pay Crabbe $15M/year when they have those three?
• Phoenix has Booker (whom I'm pretty sure they see as the future) at SG, so I don't see them throwing big bucks out at that position.
• OKC could have been a dark-horse if they wanted to ditch Waiters for Crabbe, but now they have Oladipo, so probably not, unless they want to go small with Crabbe at SF.
• Minnesota has the space, but they also have Rubio/Dunn/Lavine at guard, Shabazz/Wiggins at SF, and just signed Brandon Rush, so really no room for Crabbe.

Yeah, it only takes one team to offer him a big deal, but there aren't a whole lot of good fits out there.

If I am Boston I look at him at SF. Not sure who they have besides Crowder, but Jae is not the best 3 pt shooter.

There some interest in our FA but no one has yet threw money at them yet. That could be good for us that give Neil the upper hand on what he wants to sign them for or they can sign QO.
