PG was hurt. What if we got "MVP consideration PG" during that series. You know, the one that shot the lights out when they swept us?

It would have been way different. But you're missing my point. My point is PG resigned and Kawhi won a championship and is more likely to stay than leave.
But we didn’t and OKC has won 3 playoff games and yes, he was hurt. That’s part of the point. The PG trade has not worked out for OKC.

You either add a second first-team all-NBA player to your starting five or you are one of the few teams that pretty much returns intact and can hit the ground running.
Except we won’t have our starting and backup center and best man off the bench during the playoffs.

Maybe we will. Maybe we won't. Maybe we'll have other guys, although Nurk would certainly be back for the playoffs.

But, hey, reality isn't going to stop people from getting their panties in a bunch and jumping out the basement window because they are in perpetual gloom and doom mode.

Contrary to popular belief people can be critical without being doom and gloom, and people can praise the team without being all rainbows and unicorns...

Just a friendly reminder:

Were not getting AD.

Were Portland.

Once upon a time, the Warriors had an established and high powered point guard named Mona "I got it all" Ellis.
Then, they drafted a noob from a tiny school named Stephen Curry. They decided to trade their high powered
PG to pave the way to give the promising Curry more minutes. This was one of several key factors in the Warriors later winning multiple championships.

I wonder if there is a corresponding situation with the current Blazers with Ant and CJ....

Hmmmm.

For the right players, sure.

Ellis and Curry played together. Ellis was traded to make room for Klay.

Makes sense huh?

That’s the thing, if they believed in Simons as much as were led to believe, why NOT explore CJs market? Are you going to extend him in two years when you have a much younger and cheaper replacement lined up? If not, wouldn’t now be the best time to trade him? His value isn’t going to get higher. You’re not going to have an opportunity to get a better player than AD, not for CJ at least.

I know it’s all speculation, and maybe Olshey is offering up CJ and the pelicans aren’t interested, but my gut tells me he isn’t and they are, so I’m allowed to be pissed off!

No offense, but I'm not sure you know how late you are with this post.

This has been said so many times.

So you are going to be pissed off over something you don't even know if it's possible or if it's even being discussed based solely on your speculation? Strange logic.

If repeat posts were eliminated from this forum then very few posts would exist.

Personally if there is any way to keep Curry and Hood those two would be my priority. Shooting is a premium in the league. As much as I like Kanter he’s very limited against teams that spread you out and play pick and roll. Maybe use our pick to tie it with Turner to dump salary and give us more flexibility.

Curry is the last one I'd keep, unless CJ McCollum is traded.

What was our teams priority before? And how do you know it’s changed? I’d be shocked if Olshey made any significant trade. He references the Spurs as a model often, and they rarely go external for help.

The Spurs won with a #1 pick hall-of-fame center. If you don't have something like that, what's the point of referencing the Spurs? He should reference the current Spurs if he wants to keep it real.
