Not what the dictionary says but hey, The Merriam Webster is a piece of shit anyway.

nep·o·tism
/ˈnepəˌtizəm/

noun
  1. the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs.
"his years in office were marked by corruption and nepotism"
Interesting that it includes friends. I was also under the same impression as @Hoopguru that nepotism was for family and cronyism was the word for getting friends in jobs they shouldn't have.

Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and the No. 4 pick is a shit offer. Similar talent can be found through free agency every year.
Ingram is solid for sure, but like many free agents he is a bit of a tweener.
Ball is also a solid player. But good point guards with below average 3 pt shooting can also easily be found.

I am sure they will eventually offer Kuzman but right now they are just trying to boost his stock by saying he is off the table. Hopefully the Pelicans don't fall for it.

dviss1...you work for the Kohler distributor?
I used to sell their gen sets and engines and have been to their factories many times. Their design center is outstanding and the porcellin plant is amazing.
The Kohler village is very unique too. They built the village with german style homes they either sold too or leased to employees.
Great Company!
I’ve worked a couple times in Koehler,WI if that means anything.

If were involved just to facilitate I'll be mad. I hate when a team helps other teams get good... If we're not involved at all, then ok. If Neil Olshey helps LA get AD, ugh...
Even if we get rid of Evan Turner's salary in the process?

The agent is supposed to work for the player. In this case, AD works for rich Paul who works for Lebron.

Stop. Me becoming a coach because my buddy owns the program isn't nepotism.

It's choosing someone to place in the position that you trust and you know will do a good job.
The instances previously cited are not examples of nepotism. Both in your job, and I'm assuming your coaching, you demonstrated ability and were therefore pursued. Contacts are very important and can go a long way towards getting a job - nobody is saying that's bad. But, as people have mentioned it sounds like this Rich Paul guy is doing his client more harm than good. Without any knowledge of the guy, I'm guessing he didn't have any experience and was given the job based SOLELY on his connection, rather than any previous work performance. That's nepotism. Jared Kushner/Ivanka Trump having whatever positions they have is nepotism. Nobody said you were benefiting from nepotism.

LOL. How do you put this argument forward when you don't have facts?

It remains to be seen how well of a job he's doing for his client. Frankly, he got one of his clients a million dollar deal RIGHT outta HS...

I need an agent like that.

By saying things like "it sounds like" and "I'm guessing". Jesus fucking christ, this place fucking sucks. Some of you (you in particular, dviss) use to be cool to chat with. But fuck this shit.

Um.. Triggered?? Who the fuck pissed in your oatmeal this morning?

You clearly are speculating and my question was a valid one.

Settle the fuck down... shit...

AD is young...probably surfs social media...googles Dame, Blazers, himself....if you're reading this AD....there's not a better fit in the NBA for you than between Jusuf Nurkic and Damian Lillard! Dynasty! Come to Portland! Fans will roar for you!

not going to happen.

What? You have no idea whether he's pushing for a move or not.
C'mon bro, we're talking about Olshey, you already know the answer. But if he's pushing for AD, i'm sure he already offered Turner, Meyers, Harkless and the 25th pick

He's gonna tell us how aggressive he was but it takes two teams to complete a Deal, i've seen this movie many times before with him

I was gonna say something, but maybe you don't know how incredibly stupid this sounds. :dunno:

I know things you dont. You have no knowledge of anything, and sit here with BS speculation trying to tell me what I "know". It's dumb.

I don't believe Olshey is seriously chasing AD, and in this case I can't even blame him. If there was a reasonable chance of persuading him to stay - then sure, you go for it. In this case, everytime rich Paul opens his mouth it becomes more obvious (at least to me) that the only agenda here is to deliver AD to LeBron. IMHO, this whole thing is a sham.

It was the same way for PG.
