No I don’t think you do, if you did you would act faster as opposed to sit and say “dviss isn’t doing anything wrong”. To be honest I don’t even know who was in charge of giving you mod because you seem to be the most bias going into your position. You sit and like people’s comments against others. Yeah not bias at all. Instead of doing something as mod, you like the comments of your “friends” even when they are doing that childish gray area shit. You can’t convince me otherwise. I have these conversations with posters behind the scenes as well. They don’t speak up. I do. I always have. I’m not the only one with these thoughts. But hey it is what it is. There is a reason it has become an echo chamber. Nobody likes dealing with the bullshit that never gets fixed so people like me stopped posting in the OT. As I like to call it, the circle jerk of the whole forum. That’s all it is. No actual conversation is taking place.
CJ has has some very well thought out, brilliant tweets, but that one is up and away the best. If he doesn't have those words tattooed on himself somewhere, I'll do it.
Right but see how the whole concern in the message is how if dviss will think ignore it’s racist. As if it all revolves around his feelings. Don’t know about you but I haven’t encountered a racist person on this forum for how ever many years I have been here. Yet dviss claims there are racists here and others have. I haven’t seen it. So I don’t know. I don’t appreciate the assumptions in the past of me being racist. No mod defended that despite there being zero evidence of it. Or anytime me being from Damascus was used as some form of insult to me. Time after time of me offering an opinion and the same people jumping all over honestly led to me saying fuck the OT section. Sometimes I’m just over the whole forum. I haven’t been posting in the game sections a whole lot though I watch every game. Makes people feel unwelcome and like the years I have been here just doesn’t matter because well I’m just viewed unfairly by the same people on the forum so why the fuck should I care to sit and put time into it?
Just an example of a conversation that happens behind the scenes. All of the mods try to be as fair as possible and when they aren't sure they reach out to the biggest asshole in the forum (psst...that's me.)
It will never be perfect but that isn't because of a lack of trying.
One of the biggest things Denny and Ed O impressed upon me when I joined the staff was when it comes to moderating less is best.
That's why I'm having this discussion with you and trying to explain things.
We try to keep it simple, no personal insults. I look at adding additional rules like no grey areas or no baiting as being very difficult to interpret and enforce fairly.
That doesn't mean that we won't look at adding more rules or refining the personal insult rule but it needs to be very black and white.
As I've said before, if I read something along the lines of, "you are a <insert something mean or insulting here> that is a personal insult and I can explain that to others on staff. That's why I'm resistant to label something like, "I'm in your head" as being a personal insult. Lot's of people can be "in your head" that doesn't mean it's necessarily a bad thing. Loved ones can be in your head.
Anyway, I appreciate these conversations and how the forum is moderated. I do think and care about your concerns and complaints.

I would have opinions certainly, but when you’re a mod you kind of have a duty to look at shit more evenly. So even if you wanted to go off in one way, you kinda gotta play mediator because of you don’t, it sets a precedent and gives the people of the forum a certain feel that a bias exists. You know, like what’s happening now.
Well it’s the assumptions. You assume I’m in moods where a discussion can’t be had with me. That’s bullshit. Maybe if you actually tried a shot oppose to shit on me in the past, it would of worked. I see you put more effort into this one though. Never said I was perfect. I certainly had times here where I said some dumb shit and I owned up to it. I think I have been here for four years. I’m 27. A lot hasn’t happened in four years. I have grown a lot. However I’m still very outspoken. It’s just how I have always been. Sometimes I shouldn’t talk because it just creates a scene which I end up regretting. That’s why I haven’t posted here a while. No matter what I post a certain group containing the same people respond and get all mad and quite honestly assume things I didn’t specifically mean. Yeah my delivery is poor at times, that’s what leads to the misunderstanding. You’re right, this is a game. This isn’t real life face to face conversation. Different rules apply I guess. I only have ever had issues in the OT section, never the blazer part of the forum. So I don’t know. I like bones. I like other people here but yes you’re right, it’s a game.
I’m not trying to diss you. I’m just saying I think certain people could handle the job and some can’t. My opinion being, you can’t. That’s one opinion. It was unanimous though so there you go. I have no personal issue with you. I think the only person I would consider having a personal issue here is with dviss because he has made it that way. You don’t get to sit and imply I’m racist time and time again or tell me you’re scared to go to some event with me being involved and be scared to take your son because I’m a gun owner, implying the most dramatic shit of all being that I would cause some form of harm to somebody. However that’s what dviss did and honestly I don’t care for that fucking guy. That kind of shit isn’t cool to me, especially when people in my past close to me have been taken by guns. I don’t play around with that. That’s when it got very personal. I don’t find him to be a good person and I get angry thinking about having to ever talk to such a person like that in person. So yeah. You guys have different experiences with him. That’s great. He hasn’t said the shit to you like he has me though. That’s a vile person.
I think I come across better in person. You can’t hear tone and all that across words so I see how at times I could seem combative and at times I certainly have been but for the most part I’m not trying to be combative at all and I think the generalizations are uncalled for because there’s is always zero evidence behind it. The issue is we live in a society now where calling people racists for practically nothing is the normal thing to do along with nazi and alt right, all that nonsense. Funny thing is, I’m not right at all. I mean I have some views I share that are right but I also have views that are very liberal. It’s just interesting to me I guess. Maybe in a sense that’s why I stopped posting in OT. Sometimes I don’t think when I deliver something. I just kinda type and whatever my mind comes up with I deliver. It might sound combative when it’s read but it’s not meant to be, that’s for sure.
