Just found out that Nurk blocked me on Twitter. I checked what i wrote in his direction, and the only thing i found is "he still dont dunk the damn ball". I think Nurk wants to get out of Portland, he's done here

They are not boring;rather they are disappointing and predictable

There’s about ten threads on Reddit right now giving away tickets to tonight’s game alone - that’s about the average lately on game days.

They’re dreadfully boring. Even factoring in covid - nobody wants to watch this team.

The Blazers aren't good enough to be boring, right now their just a bad basketball team.

A team that I'd give the boring label has to be at least .500, so even though they might be in the range of competent to great in effect, it's unentertaining to watch.

If you asked me to discuss a bunch of boring teams from the 90's I'd never list a team well below .500

Interesting to see the ball movement, assists.....and only 9 turnovers.

...that's what I am saying! Everyone was involved and engaged for pretty much the entire game. Simply amazing.

they are boring now. I'm just bored of the same ol same ol. 3's everywhere. they have people who aren't supposed to shoot 3's, shoot 3's.

there is still nothing that gets the crowd riled up as much as alley oops, big time blocks, fast breaks that lead to dunks rather than 3's. (other than a buzzer beater)

if we incorporate those into our play, they wouldn't be boring anymore. right now, the Blazers are acting like the Spurs. boring.

More ball movement and a faster pace makes this team more enjoyable and exciting.

Yeah, with no significant change since he was 19.

Simons has improved a little, but not much at all compared to the time he's spent in the league:

the first thing to calculate is whether or not last season was an aberration in terms of his shooting efficiency. It's really looking like one but he can still turn that around this season. But, a .540 career mark is well below average in the league

He has improved his FT% quite a bit, but his FT Rate has fallen steadily to a fairly anemic level.

He's improved his assist rate a little, but a 14.3% rate is still quite bad for a ball-handling guard

this is his 4th season, and for the last 3 seasons he has been given consistent minutes and a consistent role. He doesn't have the 'but-he's-so-young-and-inexperienced' excuse anymore. He's at the point where he starting to be a 'what-you-see-is-what-you-get' role player. He sure hasn't proven he's anywhere close to a starting level player. And while he has better handles and likely better court vision than Allen Crabbe, it's fair, at this point, to think he's a one-trick pony, like Crabbe, who plays atrocious defense. Another Olshey special

because of his 3 point shooting he has some value. But can the Blazers really afford a poor-man's CJ when they are seemingly stuck with the original version?

these have aged really, really well, huh?

You guys are crazy! This team might be the most boring team in the league to watch.

Maybe it was “not much at all” instead of “barely”. All I know is I thought you guys were nuts and since then he’s been tremendous.

so, let's say I made that post about a month ago, give or take a week or two; back when he was averaging 12 points and 2 assists on about 44% FG's and 38% three's....while playing shitty defense. Back way before this 6 game hot streak. Does it look as "nuts" as a take in early to mid December?

January 3

January 3

lol...ok then...before the hot streak by a few hours. Just under the wire

Right after a 7 game stretch when he had scored 67 points on 74 shots; 7 games when he had 14 assists and 11 turnovers; 7 games when he averaged 31% on FG's and 29% on three's. The 7 games directly before the last 6 games....do you mean that Jan 3?

Sure he’s been great since then. But the idea what he was the same player and hadn’t improved was wrong then and wrong now. It was clear. The idea that the 22 year old had somehow reached his peak and “he is who he is” mentality was ridiculous.

ok...that's fair

Already posted elsewhere that I'm happily eating crow after saying I'm not an Ant fan and hadn't seem much improvement since his rookie year. Now that he has been given the reigns and seems to have more freedom, he is looking pretty darn good.

I also find I'm enjoying the games more lately. Concerned about boring Blazers returning with the return of CJ.

Will be interesting to see how Super-Ant does with the return of MeJ.
