I don’t know why companies think that just because a player played in the league, they can talk about it on TV. There are SO many bad commentators out there it’s ridiculous.
I'm not sure it matters if they're good. I think it mostly just matters if people know who they are. It’s really bad in boxing.
Barkley has gotten better. He also mixes it up a bit and creates new things every year. Entertaining yes but on top of that he's not blatantly wrong other than some of his predictions. (Who isn't on predictions). Most of his takes have some merit. The thing though is that Shaq usually takes the other side which can also be wrong just as much as right. More and more though you hear them say "On this we agree". More so than when they started.I'm not sure it matters if they're good. I think it mostly just matters if people know who they are.
I don't care if Charles Barkley is good. I liked watching him play basketball and he's funny.
*Edit* Not that I agree it should be this way, but I think that's what's going on. Those guys don't have to be good to get better ratings.
?I'm surprised they didn't put "free to good home" on his jersey.
