if he actually went that route, I'd wonder if he'd fall out of the 1st round...if the NBA would do a subtle boycott

Honest question. Which team overdrafted and the player played well enough to make the team feel vindicated? I feel Edey is an example

But they received PLAYERS. Which, bear with me here, are the things that you TAKE with draft picks. Draft picks themselves are, let us stress, completely irrelevant to basketball games. So this is kind of a stupid burn. The kind of burn you would only think good if you were somebody who doesn't actually play basketball you just obsess about it.

can't't remember where he was generally mocked. One consensus I found said 17:

don't know how accurate that is

17-->9 isn't quite the leap that 2nd-round-->16 was. Memphis was pretty desperate for a C though; so they clearly drafted for need making their pick not much of a stretch. Edey played 66 games; started 55; and averaged 16 & 14 per36 with a PER of 18.8, a TS% of .636, a block rate of 5.5%, and was dominant on the offensive glass (like Clingan). So yeah, I'm sure Memphis feels vindicated. I doubt Yang has anywhere close to that kind of impact unless the Blazers manage to dump Ayton

I think if we wanted to get a low 1st round pick for Ant, we absolutely could have. We valued Jrue and his mentorship more than that.

sorry...not buying it. I guess we'll see though because if Portland could have received a 1st round pick, Boston will since they seem to be shopping him hard

Oh, you don't have to be sorry. They are took back a 100 million dollar Jrue Holiday at 35 years old. Right or wrong, they are pretty committed. Letting Ant expire is closer to a low 1st than committing a hundred million for a 35 year old Jrue Holiday.
