The incessant posts about Yang…you’re not a fan. Did you have this much passion about every other rookie they have drafted, not being ready or able to play?
“Incessant Posts”? I’m simply giving my opinion on other people’s opinions. I apologize if it’s not lining up with yours.

Super pumped and still am about Scoot. DC is about where I thought he’d be. A couple years away from being a quality starting center. Not sure if either of those are “passionate” vibes though.

Then you better make sure we have a good THIRD string center FAMS! Cause he is gonna be getting some minutes!
Reath is fine as a 3rd string.... But with Timelord as Backup and Yang we have four centers.

last season Clingan was at least as good, quite arguably better than Ayton, and you've been mourning the loss of Ayton. Yet, you're still claiming Clingan is a "couple years away".....geeeeezuzzz. If Clingan was a couple of years away after one season, Ayton was a couple of years away after 7 seasons

Question:

Does anyone genuinely enjoy smoking cigars or is it just an image thing?

I do

For Lebron though it looks very much like an image thing

You’re “famously” the type of “fan” who has crazy unrealistic expectations of players and teams and then are one of the ones who bitches when shit doesn’t pan out huh? And we have to hear about it every game thread huh?

Do you have examples? Should be easy to find for you.

Agree on the image thing. Not surprising really.
I used to enjoy cigars. Not while golfing. Standing over a ball with smoke rolling into your nose and eyes is the last place I would want one.
Also, kind of sounded like the exact type of guy LBJ would golf with. Probably a wealthy, borderline dirtball with some skeletons in his past that would blow Lebron after 175 yard drive into the water just to stroke his ego.

So we are better off a the center position than last season?

Why, because he’s arguably the best player to ever play the game? You have so much hate, that you question him liking cigars? This place cracks me up

Don't hate him at all. He is one of the best players to play the game. He may like Cigars. Smoking while teeing up and filming seems all about image to me. Not really great to golf with smoke in your eyes.

If I'm smoking a cigar it's while sitting back and chilling with a glass of rum in the other hand.

The goal shouldn't be to be better next season. That is pointless. And we are lucky that Joe doesn't aim at being better next season but in the longer term.

So they are supposed to "tank" again?
Seriously you can't have it both ways. You either try to win or you don't. This is getting to be more like the overall expectation with the Blazers now.
This is exactly what is meant by "Losing Culture". This team and it's fans don't even want to win any longer.

The problem now is this very well could be a lost season since the team is up for sale and it's even been said they are only looking to take on expiring deals at this point maybe 2 years remaining IF it makes sense but any longer then that - nope. This season is a transition year but we have no idea what the Blazers are transitioning too since we have NO idea what this new owners desire for winning is cause it could be just make the playoff to what we all hope it will be and that is to try and do what it takes to be a Top 3 team in the west.

The goal of the Blazers should be to build a better team by 2028. Vet leaders like Timelord, Thybulle, and Jrue help with that.

Ayton doesn't.

Then get a front office who gives a fuck about actually winning instead of being okay with garnering apathetic fans (me) who actually want the team to be the best, not middle of the road, which is what all their moves (Scoot, sharpe, deni, tou) are. Middle of the road support players that cant develop into superstars because they aren't good enough to become that. They are good to somewhat good players, but none of them will be a superstar. And we just need one of them to be that. But none of them will and its obvious, but then we do the CJ and simons treatment where they both fucking suck and we hold on to them for too long. Rinse and repeat.

Then we become apathetic because we get done being told and sold a fake bill of goods.

"Like a matador is taunting me with its reddest red cloak and I am the bull
Yes I feel emphatic about not being static
And not eating the bullshit thats being fed to me no more
Cause now im full"

You can be pissed at me all you want for speaking my peace about it, but im done being told we are gonna be great and every year since covid we have fucking sucked. Theres something to be said about eternal optimism but theres also something to be said about understanding when we are getting the wool pulled over our eyes. At a certain point im going to stop believing what someone else has told me for 5 years because the words aren't meeting the actions.

It must be very confusing to you that there are players (Jahlil Okafor, Boban Marjanovic) who, when they play, put up ridiculous per-36 numbers in both scoring and rebounding, and yet can't get a job in the NBA. I mean, go check out highlights of Kenny Lofton Jr.

Again, -6

* Portland offensive rating with Ayton on floor: 111.6
* Portland offensive rating with Ayton off floor: 111.9

net = -0.3

* Portland defensive rating with Ayton on floor: 118.4
* Portland defensive rating with Ayton off floor: 113.6

net = -4.8....meaning the Blazers were 5.1 points worse with Ayton on the floor

****************************************************

* Portland offensive rating with Clingan on floor: 112.3
* Portland offensive rating with Clingan off floor: 111.5

net = +0.8

* Portland defensive rating with Clingan on floor: 112.5
* Portland defensive rating with Clingan on floor: 116.3

net = +3.8....meaning the Blazers were +4.6 points better with Clingan on the floor

if you're keeping track, Portland was 9.7 points better than the opposition with Clingan on the floor instead of Ayton. Defense matters, and the reality is after all the yakyak about Ayton's allegedly better offense, the Blazer offense was slightly better with Clingan than it was with Ayton
