Common mistake...He was clearly thinking Milwaukie, Oregon
Agreed.I wish at the time we all could have just accepted him and appreciated him for what he was instead of lumping loftier expectations of needing him to become a star
Look at all the guys in the 80s/90s that career ended in their 20s because of injuries. Much prefer the rest teams do now."Back in my day, we used to play basketball uphill in the snow!"
Teams should only do a B2B if it's a double header at same opponent without travel. It's nuts teams have to fly at night after game to play next night in a new city. If there weren't B2B travel teams could change schedule so they never fly at night after a game. Could have earlier wake time and more standard practices in the afternoon. If you can, go read the comments on that tweet. Fans crucifying Kerr for not practicing. It's pretty much standard throughout the league. Wear and tear over time but I kind of agree. I feel teams should do film sessions and at least light practice sessions when they have two or three days off. Obviously on a B2B you don't have much time and with travel there are other issues. It seems to me that there are times players are sitting in their rooms in cities waiting for the next game. Maybe it's tough to get a place to do a small practice that doesn't have a bunch of fans all over it. Might be logistically a bad idea to try to practice while on the road at all.
john stockton played 82 games in 16 years of his 19 year career. respect where it is due son. lebron james has only played in 82 games once.Look at all the guys in the 80s/90s that career ended in their 20s because of injuries. Much prefer the rest teams do now.
Also kind of hilarious coming from Stockton who was one of the first starters to ever move to a 20mpg role so he could extend his career into his 40s. Duncan eventually did this as well.
Batum was never a star and never could have been one. We needed another starting level player on those rosters, not delusional expectations of Batum.Agreed.
But, also in hindsight, we really needed him to become a star. That would have put us over the top.
Yeah but he's what a 1% example of guys who did that and lucky to never have major injuries.john stockton played 82 games in 16 years of his 19 year career as well as 47,764 minutes. respect where it is due son. lebron james has only played in 82 games once.
It's shit like this that makes me think 2k ratings are moronic.

I FUCKING APPRECIATED HIMI wish at the time we all could have just accepted him and appreciated him for what he was instead of lumping loftier expectations of needing him to become a star
It was just frustrating watching a dude who could have been a star and he just didn’t have the drive. One night he’d drop 30 and the next he’d do 10 assists and 5 points. He had all the tools he just didn’t have the drive. That’s the same thing that worries me about Sharpe.I wish at the time we all could have just accepted him and appreciated him for what he was instead of lumping loftier expectations of needing him to become a star
We weren't going to get more talent on those rosters. That's why we needed Sheed to be less of a knuckle head and Batum to be better.Batum was never a star and never could have been one. We needed another starting level player on those rosters, not delusional expectations of Batum.
I have the same opinion of Sheed. I just expected both the good and the bad with him. He won a title months after going elsewhere. We needed more talent on all these rosters.

I would argue that if he had the drive he would have likely been a much more consistent shooter.I disagree. His shooting was way too inconsistent to give him any star potential.
10000%. Dude would just stand around sometimes and it would drive me nuts. His effort one night would be great and the next it was awful. He was so frustrating to watch. That's probably why Aldridge wanted him off the team so bad.I would argue that if he had the drive he would have likely been a much more consistent shooter.
That said, I believe his dad died on the basketball court as a pro player. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with anything "drive" related, but it's understandable if it did.
John Stockton is a nutjob MAGA and LeBron isn’t….. respect where it’s due.john stockton played 82 games in 16 years of his 19 year career. respect where it is due son. lebron james has only played in 82 games once.
