I'd love to see the Indy crowd chant overrated when hali is shooting foul shots to motivate him

You don't have to throw your teammates under the bus to stand up for yourself.
Nah, you could just sucker punch them like Jordan did? Maybe that’s what he should do to get people’s respect?

Shit like that happens behind closed doors. It can actually make teams closer. And Kerr claims that incident did make them closer. They talked about it and understood each other better.

This was a public statement deflecting responsibility away from himself and toward his teammates.

Completely different situations.

Are you saying we like all our players? Because we have a long list of Blazers (past and current) that proves otherwise.

I'm saying if Lebron were a Blazer he'd be guaranteed to make the HOF. I mean look what we did for that Carmello guy.

Not sure if Denver is playing great or OKC is chocking.

Didn't expect Denver to be up 2-1 this series.

It was a really well played game by both teams, I thought... both defensively and offensively. A lot of runs. Then it came down to OT and I think Denver really big brothered the Thunder. The Nuggets score the first 7 points and that's almost always a death knell in OT and it was in this case.

Denver is lucky to be up 2-1 in this series
I guess, this game definitely was a lot of runs by the Thunder getting in front of the Nuggets and then the Nuggets clawing their way back but when it all counted in OT Denver dominated them.

Some of my best friends growing up I hated and fought with at first.

Weird, I know.

Did you actually think Jordan was a good teammate?

He was an asshole IMO. No need to act that way either. Duncan won about the same titles with less physical talent while being a great teammate.

Personally I strongly agree with HCP that LeBron was and is 10x the teammate of Jordan. Now I don't think it was a good quote, but sometimes people just give a poor response. He makes mistakes.

If Deni had made that comment nobody would have blinked an eye.

Jordan was criticized much more when playing. Now it's just a bunch of old people talking about how much better it was in the good old days. 10 years after LeBton retires he won't get the criticism he gets today.

Pardon me, but LeBron is on vacation and there have been some pretty damn good playoff games.

I was simply saying I'm not surprised by that LeBron quote.

And that Jordan punching Kerr wasn' like LeBron saying this.

One happened because LeBron was trying to deflecting responsibility for a failure the other happened due to a hyper competitive practice atmosphere because MJ and pushed himself and his teammates hard enough that failure wouldn't happen.

Was Jordan a good teammate? He became great at getting his teammates prepared to battle. I'm sure his teammates thought it was tough.

I think Jordan was a better winner than LeBron. I also don't think Jordan would have ever said that. He knew that winning was on himself and Scottie. You can only expect your non-star teammates to do so much.

I also don't think Deni would deflect blame away from himself and toward the "8 other guys".

My best friend and I couldn't stand each other for the first year or so that we knew each other and neither of us remember why. Probably because it has been like 40 years and our minds aren't what they used to be.

OKC lost the game because they kept going with SGA iso, over and over, he couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. Jalen Williams was hot, SGA was cold, so sure, go with SGA....if you want to lose. That was the game; also Aaron Gordon is becoming the modern Robert Horry

Why is mpj faking a shoulder injury
Nah dude messed his shoulder up a while back. Even before the playoffs.
Side note: After game 4 in LA, he was walking up the ramp from the loading docks while the rest of the team was hoping on the team bus. He was with a security guy heading to a car. He could barely walk he was in so much pain.

You “don’t think” he would say something like this? Strange battle to fight here. You don’t know WHAT he ever said, there was no media like today back then. Oh well. And punching your teammate no matter how you spin it is fucked up. No different than Draymond.

It can and does. I think MJ made players around him better. For sure he was the Alpha Dog on the court. Kobe was similar.

I'm not defending Jordan as a great teammate. I'm simply saying it's different.

I don't think Jordan would put himself in a situation where he would have to defend himself like this.

I simply said I'm not surprised that LeBron would say something like that.

*Edit* I honestly can't believe people ride LeBron's jock like this. Lol.

I simply say I'm not surprised, and his team of nurse maids have to come and help clean up his ass for him.

You laker fans are pretty funny.

Not sure that throwing your teammates under the bus in an interview qualifies as “good teammate” energy. Whether legitimate or not, a better team mate would accept responsibility themselves rather than throw others under the bus, even if it is largely the fault of said teammates.

There’s difference between saying “we” have to be better, and “they” have to be better.

Completely incorrect. Do a bit more research on this one.
Did you see the blowback to me being unsurprised about LeBron blaming his teammates?

That was crazy. These Laker fans need to dial it back a bit...

Hey how did your daughter’s hoops seasons end up? Did you update your thread and I didn’t see it?

Good! Coach made her the starting PG about halfway through the season and then they got 5 of their 6 wins after that. Ended the season winning 2 out of 3 vs playoff teams who were playing for higher seeding.

She was in the running for rookie of the year, but got beat out by a kid who played just about every minute of every game for a playoff team. Was in the running for defensive player of the year but lost out to the senior who was a 2 time (now 3 time) defensive player of the year for the #5 team in the country and conference champion.

We didn't lose any seniors, so things are looking up. Should be right in the mix next year!
