They're on pace for 47 wins.
Ok. I walked through their schedule before my prior post, and I see them going 18-7 the rest of the way. Could be wrong, but wouldn't surprise me at all, especially if they get fully healthy.

About that last part, two words: Chris Paul.

yeah, it always seems to be a roll of the dice with Paul during the playoffs. he's back now and playing well, at least he was before the break

but if he stays healthy and Capela returns and is healthy, along with how Rivers and Faried were playing and the addition of Shumpert, the Rockets are going to be an extremely tough out. Pretty clearly better built than Portland for playoff BB IMO

Don’t think I agree that they are that much better for the playoffs than the Blazers, but they would be a real tough out. Better pass OKC for 3rd seed or at least hold onto HCA.

last season, Houston won 65 games and were 11-6 in the playoffs before CP was injured. And in the past 2 seasons, when Portland was going 0-8 in the playoffs, Houston was going 17-11; that's 17 more wins than Portland has and they won 3 series. Sure seems like they have a better playoff roster. They lost Ariza, Mbah a Moute, and Anderson, but have now replaced them with Rivers, Kenneth Faried, and Iman Shumpert. So, talent-wise, it's probably a pretty close set of replacements; maybe the fit isn't but the rest of the season will reveal that

I think they'd be a bad matchup for Portland, especially if they have HCA. Of course, right now OKC and Denver looks like bad matchups. At least the Blazers have beaten the Warriors twice, but I think the playoff Warriors would handle the Blazers easily unless Nurk and Kanter can completely dominate the inside.

Utah would probably be an even matchup, but they can really defend well and that works in the playoffs. The Spurs/Kings/Clippers could be much easier outs for Portland but only 2 of those will be in, and Portland isn't going to get the 2 seed

I am sure all of the NBA pundits will peg the Blazers as the underdogs too. Nobody said it was going to be easy. I would just add that the Blazers have never had this much depth of talent in the era of Lillard being the team leader.

After seeing this, I expect:
1) the Lakers to make a a serious playoff surge for the SEVENTH seed, not the eighth.
2) the more and more talks of LeBron being a contender for the MVP

oh great...Playoff Lebron + Lakers....my god the officiating is going to be crazy. Thankfully, Blazers only have to play them once more

Made light of the JUSSIE Smollett situation.

Not a fan of this group, but tonight they had some great lines. "If you are going to commit a crime....don't write a check!"
" Do you think he got a receipt for the bleach and the rope? "

...yup, sad too (especially with the Donaghy article dropping earlier in the week) :sigh: then I read this headline tonight "LeBron leads Lakers' 19-point comeback vs. Rockets" ...then go straight to the boxscore (Hou 15 FTA, LA 33 FTA)...then dig deeper and look at 3rd & 4th qtr play-by-play and see the the Lakers were given something like 17 straight FTA from midway 3rd qtr when Rockets had a 19-point lead to end the game, the Rockets had ZERO FTA during that stretch!!!
