Jackson is terrible. Morris is so-so.

The Jazz have been better without Conley. I genuinely thought he was the missing piece, but he's just been terrible for them. (Talking of Memphis, they seem to be slumping in a major way lately, too. If by some miracle we do make the playoffs it'll be because they didn't.)

Good to see Rubio doing well, though. After being overrated as a rookie he's been underrated for a while.

How's this for a trifecta of knee injuries?

There is never the right time to get an injury like this but I'm glad he at least managed to get that $31.5million contract from Indiana last Summer and secure his future. If he had got the same injury last year, he would have been left without contract for a year and then probably playing out his next couple of season on minimum deals. That's also why I am always in favor of players choosing to take less money for long term deals rather than waiting it out (e.g. Draymond last year).

Cousins and IT must have lost about $300million between the two of them due to injuries. Cousins has maybe 1% chance of getting back to being a $10million+ player, IT has no chance to even get mid-level exception and he's earned $34million during his career so far which is really not that much for a former All-NBA. Cousins has made $89million which is still fine.

No question Cousins has lost a bunch of money for sure.

Yeah, I remember hearing people say IT might get a max contract... That did not work out for him at all. Which though I'm not an IT fan, I really think that sucks. Injuries suck.

The Pelicans has the tie break over Memphis and Portland. NBA must be smiling right now for Zion to get to the 8th spot.

As Tracy McGrady said on The Jump today if Pels make it... Ratings! Ratings! NBA is just rigged league lol
Zach Lowe was pushing the same narrative about Zion on his podcast with Jared Dudley of the Lakers yesterday, and Dudley shot back with "you think the league doesn't want to see Dame, who is probably playing the best of anyone else in the league right now?"

We forget how big of a star Dame has become sometimes because of the lack of ref respect. Same with Melo. He has only faced Lebron once in the playoffs over their 17 yrs in 2012 in a 7-2 matchup. It's a compelling storyline for the league to market.

I don't think it will matter, regardless of which matchup the league might theoretically want, because the Pelicans are simply the better, healthier team, and the Blazers have very little chance of keeping up with them over the nest month.

Agreed, and the 0-4 season series doesn't help. They very obviously look like the better team.

2 of the 4 were without Dame though.
All 4 were without Nurkic and Collins too - and at least 3 without Hood.
True, and we were 0-4 against OKC last year too.

But we have neither Dame/Nurk/Collins at the moment and no definitive timeline on when at least two of those guys will return. We have the same # of losses as NO now and have to finish at least one game ahead. Given the schedules, this doesn't look promising.

Did you all hear the GO podcast?

Saw this pop up on my feed but have resisted listening so far.

Steph returning Sunday... If you were the warriors wouldn’t you rest him for the season? There is no chance they make the playoffs; as I’ve said in the past is against tanking, but for their situation it makes much more sense to focus on keeping guys healthy and looking towards next season.

He had a broken hand, they can't really stretch that out longer than the 4 months they already have.
