Large market cap space much different than small market cap space. Portland had tons of it....couldn't do anything.

As Marks mentions above, I'd be happy to help them take care of not having Randle. How could we make that happen?

I think the main reason for this deal is to dump Mozgov's contract. Lopez is a fine player, but he is expiring. The 27th pick helps curb the value between Russell and dropping Mozgov's contract.

DINGDINGDINGDINGDING!! We have a winner!

Rockets Actively Looking For Patrick Beverley Trade

Patrick Beverley is being actively shopped by the Houston Rockets.

Beverley is open to a trade from the Rockets and has been consulted about a possible move.

Beverley was considering seeking a trade last offseason when Mike D'Antoni was hired.

Beverley enjoyed playing for D’Antoni, he said multiple times last season. But other factors, the source said, have led the Rockets and Beverley to explore trade possibilities.

Beverley is scheduled to make just $10.5 million over the next two seasons.

So here's my thought about the Russell trade and how it could impact the Blazers.

The Lakers were reportedly shopping Russell for a lottery pick and found no takers. So let's assume his value is a pick between 15-20. Mozgov's contract was for 3 more years at 16M/year. In return the Lakers received Brook Lopez on an expiring deal and the 27th pick in the draft. Both of those are slightly positive value.

The Lakers traded the equivalent of a mid teens pick to shed Mozgov, and in return also received a late first. According to these values, I'm guessing it would take the 26th pick to offload Meyers (3 years/10M) and the 20th pick to offload Turner (3 years/17M). It would probably take the 20th pick to offload Crabbe as well, but I would wager there is a team out there that sees Crabbe as neutral value. It's just whether that team *cough* Brooklyn *cough* still wants him at this point.

Idk, Randle is way better than Crabbe

Not sure Laker fans would agree. This is what I hear most from those who watch him every game......."If he would just focus on defense and rebounding I wouldn't have a problem with him, but he thinks he is a scorer.......

And this: "and he can't go to his right."

Yes.....clear all the young talent for a then 34 year old LeBron.
A 34-year-old Lebron will likely still be Lebron.

I think they just massively underestimate what kind of player Russell can be. They messed up drafting him to be a PG. If they had given him the 2 spot alongside Ball, he'd have improved massively this coming season. As it is, I don't know what Brooklyn's going to do with him. Is Lin still there?

40yr old Lebron would still be better than any player we currently have on the Blazers. A 34yr old Lebron is a top 5 player in the league.
