"It comes down to where I can compete for a title," he said. "Where I live -- that doesn't affect me. The limelight doesn't matter to me. I just want to make a run at it."

-Hayward

The only one of three teams he will be competing for a title with would be Boston.

I never claimed he was...
I never claimed you did. But you did say

Again, he said he doesn't care about location, he cares about winning. MM is basically implying that Haywards wife carries his nuts in her purse and doesn't allow him to make decisions regarding his own career, which I can just about guarantee is bullshit.

All i'm saying is it absolutely will be in the conversation where his wife and kids prefer.

Wasn't that in Steve Blakes conversations when he signed with us?

Miami is a contender, you heard it from MM first!
Actually they didn't. I said, as you were kind enough to quote it for me, that all three teams CAN compete. Miami has a very good center, good pg, and although underwhelming so far, Winslow could be something. Favorable cap space and a destination city for FAs. Adding Heyward, in the east, puts them in a solid position. And didn't they finish 30-11?

He should go to Boston. I hope he does. Might make Crowder available for us and it weakens a team in the West and in our division.

It makes too much sense for Hayward to go East. Brad Stevens, title contention, all-star games...

Sure for our own sake, he should go east. But looking at it from haywards perspective, staying would be best. He's helped lay the foundation there. Better team than both Boston and Miami imo. Doesn't have to take a pay cut.

2 words.

Paul.

Allen.

Yes, I'm aware of the wealth of the owner...lol. But there are other small market teams that don't have an owner with the pockets of Paul and not nearly the non-ticket revenue to be able to compete with an LA, NY, CHI or HOU.

="honkicracker, post: 4198306, member: 28021"]I think Miami in the East is closer to the ECF. Than Utah is to the WCF.

After Cleveland, it's all up for grabs with the exodus of so much talent from the least

No... and I don't get how that has anything to do with being able to understand that healthy relationships are a two way street.

Because if he's on the fence about where he wants to play, if his wife is very clearly wanting to go to Miami, that carries A LOT of weight.

Also, unrelated but if I'm Hayward, and I see that Paul George just came to the west, I'm thinking I have a really good shot at making the All-Star team next season in the East.

He has a much higher chance of making a conference final in miami or boston.

Tbh dragic, hayward and whiteside is a really strong big 3 in the east. Dragic has consistently been underrated in his career. He averaged 20, 4 and 6 per game last year with a 20 PER

I just want to clarify, on behalf of the married men out there, that taking the wife's wishes into consideration when making major life decisions that affect the family isn't based on fear, but on love. It's not about whether or not there will be fallout if she doesn't like Boston. It's about how much happier it makes him to see her wake up with a smile on her face because she loves the Florida sun in January; it's about the chance to take the kids to Miami beach during an off day in the middle of a home stand; it's about a million little things that make better the lives of the people that mean more to him than his career ever can or will.

I'm not saying that he definitely chooses Miami, or even that it's where anyone in his family wants to be. What I am saying is that the weight he gives to where his wife would like their family to live has nothing to do with her having "his nuts in her purse", and anyone who has ever been married would understand that.

A counter point to this is... he is gonna retire in his mid 30s... they can live in Miami Beach until they die if they want for the latter half of their lives. Just take the most money possible with the team you're most comfortable with imo.

And that's certainly an option for him, and one way for him to look at it. But it's certainly not the only way.

Monta Ellis Discussing Buyout With Pacers

The Indiana Pacers and Monta Ellis are engaged on buyout talks.

An agreement between Ellis and the Pacers could be agreed upon by the end of July.

Ellis signed a four-year, $44 million deal with the Pacers during the 2015 offseason.

While the Pacers are generally shifting towards a rebuild following their trade of Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder, they did also sign veteran point guard Darren Collison.

So? Fuck them. I'm a Blazer fan and our owner is daddy fat sacks. :pimp:

You can have holes in the east and make it farther.

In the west, you need all of it working.

Miami didn't even make the playoffs last year. I don't see how adding Hayward takes them to the ECF. The east is weaker sure but there are still a number of teams better than the heat. Boston Toronto Washington. None of those teams got worse. Bucks will have Parker back and their younger players further developed.

In the west I still think Utah is a top 3-4 team with Hayward.

Missed the point. GG.
