Maybe I'm a homer, but I don't get why people are sleeping on Portland and think all these teams have passed us by. With The Big Nurk, we're a totally different team. GS struggled with Nurk on the floor. We dominated teams after the acquisition.

The cap went up by a little over $5 million.

$19 million a year for a starter that averaged 15.3/4.0/7.8 with a PER = 19.2 is much less crazy and than $19 million a year for a bench player who averaged 10.7/2.9/1.2 with a PER = 11.6.

OK thanks. But I am not sure why you are bringing Crabbe into it. But since you did.....if Crabbe started.... his stats would be better. No question in my mind.

To me the X factor is totally health...Aminu had his first injured season of his career...Nurk and Big Ed were injured, Leonard and Crabbe had surgeries....with the new guys we're pretty deep if healthy

I like what Minne is doing, but wonder if Wiggins is going to get lost in the shuffle.

By the way, why did Wolves sign Teague? He didn't improve Indiana at all last year and the Wolves already have Rubio. Feels like a waste.

Team didn't guard Rubio if he didn't have the ball, because he couldn't shoot, which killed their spacing. Teague is a competent shooter (unlike Rubio) and also a good defender (like Rubio).

Oddly enough, Portland's season took a turn for the worse when Aminu went down to injury.

He's good at picking off some passes and getting some fast break dunks.

Doing something 3 times over the course of an 82-game NBA season does not make you good at it. Crabbe had a grand total of 3 dunks all year. He was third on the team in total minutes played at 2254, but Pat Connaughton (316 minutes) and Jake Layman (249 minutes) both had more dunks than Crabbe.

Of our entire 15-man roster, only Pat Connaughton, Ed Davis and Meyers Leonard had a lower STL% than Allen Crabbe, As a team, we were tied for 25th in steals. When you are in the bottom 4 on a team that is in the bottom 5 at something, you don't get to list it on your resume as a strength.

Aminu is our only guy with a shot at guarding Durant or James...best defender on a team by a long shot..any offense from him is a bonus

He def did it more than 3 times.

Crabbe averages .6 steals per game off bench in his career. Not bad at all.

His raw stats might increase, but I doubt if his advanced stats would be any better. He is almost entirely dependent on others to create scoring opportunities for him. He cannot create for himself and he cannot create for others. He's a terrible rebounder, a terrible passer and the worst defender on a poor defensive team. He would only be a starter on a crappy team. He's a below average 6th man. He'd be a terrible starter.

If we hadn't signed the unspeakables last year, we'd have enough cap space to be in the running for Igoudala. He could easily start for us at SF.

Ideally Stotts should have him just focus on D. Many teams have players who only bust their ass on D and give the ball up on O. When you have Dame and CJ and AC and Nurk on the floor.....you don't need to shoot to earn your paycheck.

No we wouldn't. Not with CJ and Dame's deals. If we didn't sign Turner, we'd have no cap room this year and Crabbe could only be signed over cap because he was our FA.

I just hope we get rid of Aminu and Meyers.

More breaking news: James traded to Utah for Charles Ingles, Irving traded to New Oreleans for Tristan Thompson, Drummond traded to the Spurs for a future 1st round pick.

Why? Aminu is one of our best players and is on a good deal.
Aminu is absolute garbage. Extremely overrated defender who's no where close to being all-defensive level. Is a fucking trainwreck on the offensive end. Dude is a horrible player and doesn't belong in the NBA.

No team would give up more than a 2nd for him, and honestly, I'd take it.

I disagree. I think he would be a very effective on a good team surround by great players who needed a teammate who can spread the floor. He could start for the Cavs and be more effective than JR IMO.

I'm including Crabbe. You subract those 3, and that's under 88 million. Add in Quarterman, Connoughton, and shedding someone like Ed Davis, that's 20 million in cap space buddy.
