I get all this but math seems to suggest we’ll make the play-in unless we start forfeiting games. We’re gonna win some of these easy games.
We're going to be putting inferior talent out there in these "easy games" so I don't think there's a good chance at all that we make the play ins. I think if we win another game you'll see McLemore and Winslow being sat for the rest of the season. This team has obviously told Dame that they aren't making the play ins and are playing for a pick (Dame's words) so we'll either lose all of our remaining games playing the guys who barely beat the Pistons without Grant or we'll make those adjustments and lose without those two veterans.

Oh and the Rockets are putting out way better lineups than we are right now. They're playing Wood, Porter, Gordon, Green, Tate, Sengun and Schroder all big minutes. Obviously they'll want to be a team with the 14% chance at the first pick but slipping to that fourth worst record really doesn't hurt too bad statistically and the fifth worst record is completely out of reach. So I think they'll play their talented young guys who are a better unit than what we're running out there right now and if we win against them, like I said, I think we'll see even more guys sitting for us. Only our games against the Spurs are games where the team has to be worried about us ending up with better lottery odds than them. So yeah, the two games against Houston and the two against OKC aren't games where are opponents will be trying to win but their management won't be as desperate for a loss as ours is.

Dame never said we were playing for a pick. If the Rockets lineup is so good, why are they last in the conference? Our "inferior talent" has been developing chemistry on the floor and beat the Pistons with Bey, Cade, and Bagley. Jerami Grant sucks and would not have helped them win. You say we'll keep sitting more guys but I believe we have to have 8 active players. I'm hoping for a good lottery pick, I get it, but I think there's a very good chance we'll make the play-in for the reasons I stated.

Spurs, Pels, & Lakers are 4-6 over their last 10

Clippers and Rockets are 3-7

Blazers and Kings are 2-8

OKC is 0-10, but Presti knows how to tank

The assertion when looking at the Pistons roster that "Grant sucks and would not have helped them win." in a four point game is so very you. Great job on that take. So we're clear on what Dame said... in an interview right after the surgery he said that if we have a chance to make the playoffs that he would come back when ready but he wasn't returning at all this season if we were going to be playing for a pick. Then on Draymond Green's podcast Dame said that his progress was going great and that he was feeling better than he has in years and then said there was no way he was coming back to play this season. Just put the two statements together and it's pretty clear the team has told Dame that they're playing for a pick. You don't have to do that deductive reasoning though because in preparation to try and lose the game against Detroit the team pulled Josh Hart, just like they pulled Ant, just like they pulled Nurk. They will pull more guys if they need to. As far as dressing eight guys, we dressed twelve last game so I think we could definitely pull Justice and BennyMac. If we get one more win, I'm pretty sure at least one of those two will be sitting going forward.

Thank goddess that TNT picked up NHL games this year. The very BEST post season in sports! Because this NBA season has been kinda blahhh…..

TNT will be broadcasting regular season baseball as well. Every Tuesday night.

I am really starting to think the Pels pick ain't coming to Portland, especially if Zion comes back. As has been pointed out innumerable times, this will be awful news and support the idea that Cronin got took, and badly.

Zion is out for the season

Watching this NOLA/Spurs game! I think I'm rooting for San Antonio, not sure. They are up one at halftime.

Definitely want the Spurs to win. A Spurs win helps Portland. A Pels loss helps Portland. win-win

Spurs hang on, so they get back the one they lost to NO at home.

Now one game back of the Pels in the standings.

great result for the Blazers this afternoon.

Maybe the Kings can win in Orlando tonight. That's one of the few winnable games left of their schedule. I don't give the Paces much chance to win in Toronto

now, the Blazers have to follow up the good news by dropping the 2nd game to the Rockets

Game delayed in the second quarter in Toronto.
"Due to an equipment issue, the fire marshall has requested for everyone to calmly evacuate the building by the nearest stairwell.
There is no threat to public safety."

Magic up 4 with 10 minutes left on the Kings! GO KINGS!

For as much as being a Blazers fan can be frustrating I can only imagine the absolute disgust of being a Kings fan. I want to to root for them to be good someday but they always seem to make the wrong decision or just fuck it up.

How tf are the Kings going to drop one against the Magic? They are so embarrassing.
