What a crazy world we live in. The Clippers, Grizzlies, T-Wolves and Warriors could all be legit playoff caliber teams in the same year (won't happen, but still a possibility).

That is about as possible as you getting laid(and not having to pay for it)!

Glad to hear that its sound more and more like the Lakers will not get Chris Paul and Dwight. I would've been enraged if that happened! But trading Paul to GS, BOS, LAC, HOU could give New Orleans some nice pieces to begin the rebuilding process. With the NBA owning the Hornets I’d imagine there would be crazy backlash if somehow the Lakers got CP3 for peanuts.

Ok, so if Dwight bolts to LA I’d assume they have to give up Bynum, since it doesn’t make sense to pair him with Howard, and one of Odom or Gasol. Then the Lakers would no longer have Odom coming off the bench, he’d either be starting or out of town. The length of the Lakers was a matchup nightmare the last 4 years and along with Kobe the reason they won championships. Kobe now has a body closer to Roy then to Lebron or Wade, he can’t practice during the season and really struggled down the stretch. Watching Kobe in the playoff he didn’t attach the rim at all any longer, he’s just a jump shooter. Yes he’s a very dangerous jump shooter but he’s nothing like he was 6 years ago when he scored 80 points.

Kobe is going to regress every season from here on out. So yes the Lakers probably end up with the best big man in the game but it might not translate to a single championship at all in the next 8 seasons. They will be in the luxury tax and not have the full mid-level, so all they can add will be lower tier free agents that want to live in LA. For any NBA fan who is sick of the Lakers seemingly being entitled to the elite players the direction of CP3 rumors are a welcome blessing.

I was going off of Fez's post...I haven't heard any team say definitively that they've made an offer. Someone correct me if that's not the case. Even the Rondo-for-CP3 one was shot down by Ainge, right?

Have you ever heard a team directly say they've made any trade offer?

As the dominoes fall, a Boston rental of CP3 is looking more and more likely. Boston believes Rondo isn't adding much value after big 3 go

Odd to me that Humphries' name has not been mentioned at all. Not by us, but just in general. Seems like he got a lot of press right before the offseason as someone who would get a good deal. Now, nobody talking about him.

The Blazers, even with no GM, have been extremely quiet and inactive.

All we have to offer is the mini mid-level and the veteran's minimum right? There are tons of team with money to spend this year which moves us down the list of potential suitors, for all but the journeymen type players that are looking for work.

Via trade.

We're not going to land anyone of substance by outright signing them.

Trade what though? They're in a weird spot with their roster. They don't have a lot of young assets or picks that they appear willing to part with and they don't appear to be in a mood to unload salary for a rebuild. This looks like a "stand pat" roster to me this year.

Yeah this is one year I think the Blazer need a trade the least out of the last decade. Often we've had log-jams with two of our best players at one position, or needing to add a veteran piece to content or part with veteran piece to get young and rebuild. But now we just need a better idea of what we got, and our main 8 rotational pieces are well balanced position wise. We don't need a trade.

The trader Bob side of me always wants to see us wheeling and dealing for fun but unless some team offers us an obvious deal I'm fine just riding this gloomy train of our current roster as is for the season.

Twtter world says that Chuck Hayes signed with the Kings for 4-years, $20m.

It's not all "gloom" it's just got a lot of question marks ... and that's tough when you are coming off of a lockout and going into a compressed schedule -- this team isn't going to have much margin of error for "figuring it out," but they've got professionals with experience in LMA, Wallace, Camby, Felton ... and even Roy.

This could still be a playoff team ...

I don't see anything out there that I really think the Blazers should be jumping on. All the FAs are crap, and the few better-than-mediocre ones are way out of our pricerange (and will very soon be albatrosses round their new teams' necks). I don't get the Landry love - he was awful for Sacramento, and he's no defender at all - I'd rather give his minutes to Gerald Wallace, who is probably taller and a better rebounder (certainly than the Sacramento Landry). Besides, I firmly believe we'll be getting Freeland next season, so why commit to someone who'll scare him off?
All I want is a Przybilla/Pendergraph 13th man in case of injury. (And that's with Chris Johnson as the 12th man. Or maybe Chris Johnson as 11th man, Earl Barron as 12th.) If we go hog wild we'll never get to see much of Elliot Williams and/or Nolan Smith.

Big minutes for: Aldridge, Batum, Wallace, Matthews, Felton (in fact, if I'm in charge, that's my starting lineup).

Reserve minutes for: Roy, Camby, Johnson and possibly Nolan Smith/Williams or if they can't hack it, some Anthony Johnson type.

Spot minutes in a blowout for the Nevada Boys and Greg at first (i.e., if/when he comes back), and if he can last, he moves up to reserve minutes.

Boston's delivered New Orleans multiple 3-team trade scenarios for CP3, trying to find something acceptable to Hornets, sources tell Y!

I guess you missed this game:

CP3 wont give a commitment to either the Warriors or Clippers.

He's doing the same damn think Melo did last year.

Same fucking story.

Hearing that Shane Battier is bound for the Miami Heat. Not strong enough to write a news story but no league talk of him going elsewhere.
