Luke Walton's super-insurance contract!
I think Portland proved it is better not to trade "the greatest trade chip in history" when they held on to RLEC.

What a crazy world we live in. The Clippers, Grizzlies, T-Wolves and Warriors could all be legit playoff caliber teams in the same year (won't happen, but still a possibility).

I was going off of Fez's post...I haven't heard any team say definitively that they've made an offer. Someone correct me if that's not the case. Even the Rondo-for-CP3 one was shot down by Ainge, right?
The Blazers, even with no GM, have been extremely quiet and inactive.
All we have to offer is the mini mid-level and the veteran's minimum right? There are tons of team with money to spend this year which moves us down the list of potential suitors, for all but the journeymen type players that are looking for work.
Via trade.
We're not going to land anyone of substance by outright signing them.
Trade what though? They're in a weird spot with their roster. They don't have a lot of young assets or picks that they appear willing to part with and they don't appear to be in a mood to unload salary for a rebuild. This looks like a "stand pat" roster to me this year.
Twtter world says that Chuck Hayes signed with the Kings for 4-years, $20m.
Yeah this is one year I think the Blazer need a trade the least out of the last decade. Often we've had log-jams with two of our best players at one position, or needing to add a veteran piece to content or part with veteran piece to get young and rebuild. But now we just need a better idea of what we got, and our main 8 rotational pieces are well balanced position wise. We don't need a trade.
The trader Bob side of me always wants to see us wheeling and dealing for fun but unless some team offers us an obvious deal I'm fine just riding this gloomy train of our current roster as is for the season.
No love for guys like Arenas or 'Shard?
So the full MLE? That would have been nice to have

Suns to sign G Sebastian Telfair, source said. @paulcoro previously reported it was close.
Glad to hear that its sound more and more like the Lakers will not get Chris Paul and Dwight. I would've been enraged if that happened! But trading Paul to GS, BOS, LAC, HOU could give New Orleans some nice pieces to begin the rebuilding process. With the NBA owning the Hornets I’d imagine there would be crazy backlash if somehow the Lakers got CP3 for peanuts.
Ok, so if Dwight bolts to LA I’d assume they have to give up Bynum, since it doesn’t make sense to pair him with Howard, and one of Odom or Gasol. Then the Lakers would no longer have Odom coming off the bench, he’d either be starting or out of town. The length of the Lakers was a matchup nightmare the last 4 years and along with Kobe the reason they won championships. Kobe now has a body closer to Roy then to Lebron or Wade, he can’t practice during the season and really struggled down the stretch. Watching Kobe in the playoff he didn’t attach the rim at all any longer
