The only thing worse than a bad pick is holding on to that bad pick past the point where you can get any kind of value. Sort of like an airline selling tickets at a deep discount to fill a plane at the last minute versus holding firm on the price and failing to fill those seats at all.

One wonders if decision makers at One Center Court will do the same with a guy like Babbitt?

Bah... I got my history wrong. He got traded to the Raps during his rookie season, but only played the remaining of that first year there. Then he went to Denver and got some good PT where he showed some promise with Van Exel, then to Minny where he really proved himself. I remember Minny lamenting the fact that he left in free agency to go to Detroit.

Kemba doesnt need to be a star. If he has a Ben Gordon type career and they have a top 5 pick this year and the year after they are set.

Gerald Henderson is a prospect as much as you want to laugh at it.

Nic really needs a "breakout" type year the way Afflalo had last year to get that kind of scratch. Something tells me Nic's contract is going to come down to two things. 1) what they do with Gerald Wallace before the trading deadline and 2) Nic playing aggressively on offense and finally putting his defensive potential together. My gut says they'll give him an extension worth about 4 years 28 million (or thereabouts).
