Could be Larry Brown? He’s an assistant at University of Memphis and could be easy to peel away.

That’s my “Other” vote. Head coach experience, Memphis teams played excellent defense, ‘77 title as a player. Give him an Associate Head Coach title and a raise and see if the Lakers let him out of his contract.

Would be a good way to connect the Blazers’ past with the present/future, too, if he’d be interested.
 
I wonder if some people (meaning some in the local media) would go with a narrative that Staley is on on the staff because:

1) the Billups accusation/settlement, and
2) because of the entire Becky Hammon episode, which wasn’t handled well by the team.

I could see those donkeys Suke/Ropp and Canzano doing so for listeners and clicks. I suppose those three will find something else negative to dwell on anyhow so maybe it doesn’t matter. What does is how Dawn would feel about the situation, but she spoke fondly of Kobe and was close to him, so #1 is irrelevant even if the media pounces on it.

Pierce sucks. He's Stottsish defensively. Steve Clifford would be a name to add though.

Yeah, like we need a guy who complained about playing time during the Western Conference Finals publicly to Jason Quick to be our coach. We need a guy who probably had one of the worst shot selections in Portland to tell Dame how to shoot.

OH I remember! I still feel like if they gave the keys to Rod Strickland and traded Stoudamire we might have won it all.

GP has stated many times he couldn't play in the modern game because they wouldn't let him play physical defense...in today's game he'd foul out in the first qtr.....and listening to him talk is like listening to James Brown talk....what the hell did he just say? I don't think Payton is what we're looking for...he found a coach for his own son becaue he said he couldn't teach him to play like he used to in the modern game
 
Could probably get Hollins away from the lakers by making him associate head coach

LMA did have a decent hook shot tho, don’t remember many underhand floater layups so that’s a plus lol

Yes. But you could have stopped at liability. The guy couldn't think or see two passes ahead. I'd be yelling for him to make the pass because another passing lane was open but he was usually stoned and oblivious. I still remember some of the disgusted glares Scotty Pippen gave him on the court for just that thing.

LaMarcus idea is obvious joke. And I say this again. Aldridge is part of this so called "culture" Blazers built here: All shiny and nice from outside. Blazers are well ahead with this "win is not most important" culture, so I hope we could straight the course for the Rings little bit this year.
