Yes, that does make more sense. But to be honest, I am not buying that they are dysfunctional. At least not compared to 90% of the other franchises out there.
We may or may not like Neil's trades/drafts but I don't see a dysfunctional front office. It's not like they have been unstable.

My guess the assistant coach in question is basing it on the Twitter shit storm. Or how dysfunctional the city is in general.

Multiple national media outlets used that exact term to describe our franchise this week.

Jody needs to put the team up for sale while Dame is still under contract. At a glance when Paul slobbered all over Neil & McGowen and brought them both here its because they fit the Vulcan persona and characteristics. IF there is change and there will be look for Neil to move to another Vulcan division or company. Just my guess. When they both landed here they were like Ivy league grads taking on a junior executive training tenure before moving on with the mothership.

What happened to that secret candidate? It’s been reported and confirmed by Olshey that there were only three finalists.

He also said Billups was a smokescreen.

Exactly. And how in the hell would they know? They get their info from Tweets and opinion articles like Canzano.

If you ever listen to the opposing broadcasters for Blazer games, you probably have noticed that they repeat stories verbatim if anything is written about the Blazers or their players. Whether it is true or not. We are all often a little lazy when it comes to news. We hear it, we accept it, and we repeat it.

Kevin O'Connor specifically cited articles on Blazersedge to determine our "dysfunctional" status.

blazers have been nothing but a stable franchise under Olshey. No issues up top. No coaching turnover. No turmoil among players. Zero off the court stuff. But now that they hired a guy who had an isolated incident 24 years ago and their star player feels a sense of urgency to win, they’re all of a sudden dysfunctional. Lol, just comedy.

I think one general perception around the league right now is that Dame is getting antsy and could push his way out of town. I think another is that CJ is on the trading block. Probably another is that the way the hiring of Billups was done has led to internal dissension, particularly with Dame. Then there’s the prevalent notion that Olshey’s neck is on the chopping block. All of that gets rolled together and some people come to the conclusion that the franchise is in disarray. I suspect that the actual situation is nowhere near as unstable as the popular perception would suggest. I think this summer will reveal the truth.

I didn't think I could have a lower opinion of KOC. Literally an average fan that jumps on the latest bandwagon opinion on everything and given a platform to do it. Offers nothing but reactionary takes, no insight, no informed opinions, nothing. Why people around the league actually talk to him from time to time I will never know.
