Do you think they needed this thread to realize they are concerned? I bet they know it's August.A few posters said they would be concerned if we hit August and Roy/LMA were not signed. It's August.

I won't be worried until August 3rd. Can't wait for the August 3rd thread...Yep. It's August. Roy still isn't signed, and LMA seems to be an afterthought at this point. This is a reminder.
2nd richest owner in sports (or is it first?), top 5 richest in the US out of all citizens, sell-out crowds/luxury suites in the Rose Garden, and still playing nickel/dime on the two reasons he is close to making money on this team.
You need to be concerned, it's August 1st!Tis is getting out of hand! Those 2 are not going anywhere!

He had someday get to the point where the team breaks even but owning the Portland Trail Blazers will never be a money maker.
May as well try win a title instead of alienating your best players over a few million/per.
Relax dude, PA wants to win a title. Roy and LMA will be here for years to come.
So goes the company line. Yet, I've seen nothing that tells me they will be in Portland for years to come other than words.
Will they be? Likely.
Are they for sure? Not at all.

Will Brandon Roy be a good player next year? Likely
Will he for sure? Not at all.
Should we worry about the small chance that he won't be good and beat it to death all summer?

Then you've heard the rumors too? Giant inflatable pontoons were put under the Rose Garden when it was built. PA is just waiting for the right time to float it and the team right up to Seattle.
So by that logic, all the threads started by OdenIsGod are worth commenting on. They get responses, just like this one has.Is the fact that Roy hasn't been extended worth commenting about? Clearly and obviously, based on this thread.![]()
That's why they removed the nuke cooling tower in Kalama.
Duh

I suppose we could come up with a list of unlikely, worst-case scenarios and start threads about them semi-regularly. We haven't had a thread about the Blazers being sold in a while. It's been a long time since a Blazer did something stupid (off the court), we could start a thread about that. I'm sure you could help me with more ideas.
Ok, I'll bite. I think I said I would start to worry if he hadn't been extended by 8/1/09. If KP isn't making any trades, what else is he doing? It is a little perplexing, but at the same time I have no control over this at all, so I am not going to bother getting worked up about it. It seems like the negotiations are still amicable. Let me just throw this out there, "KP, if you looking for an out of shape 6'2 power forward who has below average basketball skills, then I am willing to sign the 4 year deal!"This would be a solid point except for the fact that I have literally started one thread about the Roy contract talks prior to this thread, and that thread was created 18 days ago.
So, what's your point? Some posters said they wouldn't worry until August 1st. It's August 1st, and I started a thread dedicated to that date. What is the problem?

You know what blows me away is, a few years ago, Paul Allen stepped in and ensured Darius Miles got signed.
How'd that work out for him?
Hopefully, if he DID insert himself into the process, he learned from that mistake.
There's simply no reason for him to step in now, two years before Brandon Roy will potentially be an unrestricted free agent, and ensure that Roy signs an extension.
