Point proven Chuck, you can't read. I said when their system gets figured out, neither of them could adjust or adapt. With Torts it was 100% defense and everyone should be willing to throw themselves in front of shots and be willing to get hurt and win games 1-0 or 2-1 with ugly goals. With AV it is the complete opposite. Try to outduel and out score teams (look at Vancouver not the Rangers) but don't crash the net and get gritty goals, spread them out and try to get pretty passing plays that eventually and hopefully lead to an open player scoring a goal. This team isn't built like that. We don't have A-the passers or B-the finishers for that. We are a team that has talent, but needs to crash the net, get gritty goals and win that way. AV just won't play that game and won't adjust to try it seems like.
 
The first thing that needs to change is Sather, Gorton's and Chucks dumb fuck mentality of trading picks and prospects for asshole go for it now trades. I said that is what the team did in the 80's and late 90's which caused this team to suck ass for almost 15 years. It is moronic. Hopefully, Chuck realizes he's stupid now with that and the team needs to rebuild a lot. It's over with this fucking core.
 
Yeah what would we do without another decade of prospect updates which is so much more fun.
 
I don't mind losing as much if they scored goals

Going back to the Torts years the coaches system and players have changed but the one constant other then Lundqvist is the team can't fucking score goals in playoffs especially at home.

I'm fine blowing this shit up

We never suck enough to get a true game changer as when we do miss the playoffs we still just barely miss. We need to tank one season ala Pitt and get a high pick one year and build around that lol
 
Might as well trade Hank too. They won't score goals for him when games matter
 
It all goes back to re-signing Girardi. Wasted 6m that could've been allocated on a cheaper yet better dman and another good depth player.

The team's handling of the roster and salary cap has been brought up before. If we wanted to reverse engineer some actions think of the fact that they could've found a way to keep Stralman instead of going the Boyle and then the Yandle route. Too many big money long term contract will always be an issue especially for players that aren't exactly world beaters. Not to mention how many times are we now seeing that you don't need an $8.5 million goalie to win? I love Hank and he has done great things but that salary is just a killer.
 
Team got close to a cup and fell short not horrible.

Having said that its time to retool this team

As has been said before, for $8.5 million, Hank should be winning these games by himself, and they should not have as many huge contracts on defense. The cap issue is still a Torts system. Focused heavily on defense and not offense. The NHL isn't like that anymore. You need offense now and this team has none.
 
Yep, Arneil is a friggin genius!!!!! There's no way we shouldn't try to can him!! In fact, we should give Arneil a raise!!!! It's totally the players and not coaches when this PK has gone from one of the best to the absolute worst.
 
This is just an ass kicking. Maybe i was wrong about wanting Pitt instead of Florida but the Rangers should be faring better.

It's still a Torts cap team. I wouldn't be shocked though if Hank eventually pulls a Roy although his contract kind of prohibits that from happening.
 
They shouldn't even bother coming out for the third period if this is the effort that they're going to give.
 
No home ice advantage at all for this team which is headed to its fifth straight home playoff loss.
 
Wow. That cross check non call was absurd. I mean, if I'm AV, I look at this team and I tell them, "between your awful effort tonight and this officiating, let's just go back to our homes and fuck the NHL." That would be AWESOME to see to stick it to Bettman and this bullshit series and how the Pens have gotten away with a clear intent to injure players twice. Not that it would make a difference on winning or losing, but it's ridiculous that the Pens have basically been told, "just don't kill anyone and it's not a penalty or suspendable."
