It isn't a vocal minority to the rest of us. Ducks fans remind me of lakers fans.

I don't lump all Laker fans in the same category either; as a general practice, I think stereotyping large groups of people is at best lazy and at worst, dangerous. I hate the Lakers because they've had our number over the years and it's no fun seeing someone else win at your expense.

LOL at beevur fans....insecurity squared

break out the lunch pails...the blue collar guys ar here

this thread wasn't made by a Duck fan. Duck fans don't make threads crowing about beating the beevurs in any sport. Duck fans make threads about winning Pac-12 championships or winning Rose Bowls or leading the conference in football recruiting. But it's the highlight of a beevur season when they beat the Ducks in anything.....thus this thread

Or another way to look at it, the Ducks are PAC12 champs, but beavs beat them so that too makes them champs.

yeah that works...that way the Ducks won 3 NCAA basketball championships by beating UCLA the years they were winning the title game

Pac-12 championships are a step above a participation trophy. National championships are where it is at. It's like the Blazer fans wanting to win our division. Cool! But who cares if you can't win the trophy.
I've attended a lot of sporting events but I have to say by far the most fun I've ever had at any sporting event was both of the Rose Bowl wins. The Rose Bowl was always the #1 ultimate goal and hope going into every school year... winning it was surreal.

Of course. So much fun. I have Beavers season tickets. Love being there when we win or lose. Tailgating is best part. I have friends who went to the Beavs Fiesta Bowl. They had a blast. Beavs had an awesome year. Just isn't the same as you winning the national title. Ducks made that stage twice. Good for them. Win one of them and ducks would live in glory forever.

To quote Nelly. "What does it take to be #1. Because 2 is not a winner and 3 nobody remembers."

in the Track & Field vs baseball debate, since I'm native-Oregonian I'd say 9 out of 10 Oregonians know who Steve Prefontaine was and who Ashton Eaton is. And, 9,999 out of 10,000 Oregonians couldn't name a single beaver baseball player unless it is Luke Heimlich, baseball wouldn't be the reason they know the name

...looks like the Scott Foster crew is in for the stripes in the 2nd half :sigh:

Why are you pointing to the scoredboard? Oregon has won 34 national titles, the Beavs have 4.

Some dude could win 20k if beavs win tonight.

I've heard this story of a $100 bet to win $20,000 (+20000 odds), but I haven't seen anything in the last two weeks that had them any worse than +2500 odds.

He got the ticket after we got killed at home by Arizona a couple months ago. Total flier.

Let’s keep this at the top of the page thank you.

I went to Oregon State, am a huge Beavs fan, and thoroughly enjoyed watching them win last night. However, the argument they're more accomplished than the Ducks is pretty silly. Can't we just enjoy this without bringing the Ducks into it?

That will happen the same time Duck fans don't get super defensive about anything said that is remotely not blowing smoke up their skirt, OR remotely anything said about the UW Huskies.

...why? For every $100 bet you win +20k :dunno:

Sorry, I should have clarified what I meant.

The math is correct. The odds seem off. A week ago I saw them as +1000 to win the tournament. That change from +20000 in a couple days is a massive jump for no real reason.

My money is on Covid to make a deep run, maybe even a final four appearance

...what day exactly, had the tourney games started yet? Is it possible you saw it at +10000?

Good questions!
  1. No, the tournament games had not started. It was after the last regular season conference games were over and the bracket was set.
  2. It's always possible I read the number wrong, but here's why I think it's unlikely in this game. The top four seeds were all in the +350-600 range. To jump from +600 to +10,000 from a 4 to 5 seed would be hard to explain, especially since the Beavs were also getting a bye.
I'm not saying it's fake because I can't prove it, but it does not add up with what I believe I saw. Photoshop is a pretty easy tool to use these days.
