...right, post Nike $$$ infusion. Let's not talk about the 60 years of futility before that OK.

the Ducks have won an NCAA championship in basketball....how many have the beavers won?

Congrats. You won the tournament when it was considered lesser than the NIT. Just a step up from the CBI championships we both have.

I wasn't the one who first went back over 80 years in Duck history

Look, traditionally we're the better basketball program - it's why despite the last few decades we still have a 40-win margin in the series. You can crow about your meaningless NCAA championship in 1939, but it changes nothing.

...hence why I was trying to make the distinction of pre/post Nike money infusion -- it's no secret those dollars brought the basketball program success -- but if we are reviewing the totality of respective basketball programs then, as my fellow Beaver brethren have pointed out, the Ducks are futile in this regard. If we are taking into account the recent competitive advantages, then yes the Ducks have been better over the past couple decades. Either way, I hope both Oregon schools keep dominating next week!

let's see, the Ducks have 5 Pac-12 championships and they have 5 Conference Tournament championships. Congrats again Beavers for finally winning the tournament and making it to the sweet-16. By the way, the Ducks have made it to the sweet-16 five times in the last 8 years

I got no skin in the game and root for both schools.

but Imma say if one of the two schools had a real advantage, as far as dominance in a major sport, OSU Beavs and their baseball program has pretty much been a gold standard in the country.

From what I can tell, UO was tired of being “almost there” with the basketball and football teams, watched OSU mediocrity across their many sports, aside from baseball dominance, and then UO said let’s develop a baseball program.

UO still couldn’t compete with OSU. Coaching in baseball is so much more important. It’s not just about individual talent.

baseball scores in single digits so the morons don't get confused. perfect game for beevurs

Don't do it. I've already been told baseball isn't a major sport.

Which makes it even more impressive we won one after UO started the baseball program and took a bunch of recruits OSU likely would have obtained.

ELITE!

The money spends the same regardless of how it is earned. And having had a close, personal experience with several of the Resers, I find your response disrespectful and uninformed. This state owes a great deal to that family. How many families get by from eating sneakers???? Kudos to Phil Knight for all he has done for BOTH universities but let’s don’t cloud a sports rivalry with false equivalencies, like being funded by generally shoddy footwear made by the equivalent of slave labor instead of revenue from food products.....having said all that, it’s sure is funny how a Duck fan just can’t say “congratulations” when the Beavs do well. They always have to make it into a dick measuring contest......

I honestly don't know the answer here but i heard today the Beavers were picked to be last in the Pac 12 this season when it started.
Is that true.

Quack...Im happy when the beavs do well and always acknowledge when they beat the duck at anything. I still do root for their baseball team too.
I have two kids that went to Oregon and we all are strong supporters. I played baseball for one of the stronger supporters for years , he's know longer with us however, The honorable Harold Taylor of Taylor Electric.
