Yes. Boys. Choirs and playthings.

those acts, while are despicable and vile, are not part of the foundation, beliefs and teachings of the Catholic faith.

True enough. It was a very poor attempt of a joke on my part. My apologies.

Disturbing stuff.

But, please, don't misconstrue that as 'hate'. I don't 'hate' anyone for any kind of religion they may belong. I just don't find followers of certain cults to be mentally fit for Presidency of the great United States.

I admit, there have been times I wished the endowment session was that short! At any rate, you might want to look at your Old Testament and you'd see these "secret" rituals are available for everyone to read about if you know where to look. Granted, some of the details aren't clear, but the gist is there.

It's disappointing to see someone break their covenants and film this sacred ordinance. People understand the difference between secret and sacred, correct?

I won't get into the text added to the video since, like typical propaganda, only half of it is correct, and the part that is correct wouldn't make any sense for anyone unfamiliar with church doctrine or uninterested in understanding it.

As for Zags disclaimer, it's on par with someone adding, "no offense intended" to an insult. If there wasn't some problem with the faith, there'd be no reason to post negative stuff day in and day out. To each their own though...

Ahhhh the Catholic religion is soooooo comparable.

The most populated and oldest religions there is and a cult that was created by boy named John Smith in upstate New York a little over 100 years ago.

You're right. To my knowledge, the Mormons haven't murdered millions of people in the name of God. Of course, that might change in the next 2,000 years after they've caught up to where the Catholics are right now.

All they're guilty of is annoying the shit out of millions of people in the name of God.

Which of the current stances do you strongly disagree with that are due to him being a Mormon?

Stances are simply topics that will sway an undecided voter's unimportant vote on election day. A president's judgements are more important than their stances.

Stances are temporary; everything that our country undertakes under a four year term is hard to foresee beforehand. That is why Romney's judgement to be(/stay) a Mormon has to at least be analyzed. Would you not agree?

For the the position that arguably requires the best capabilities of judgement in our country (our presidency), wouldn't you agree that a candidate's most important decision in his life (his religion), should be subjected to speculation?

No religious test, so says the constitution.

When you are forbidden to discuss something, it is SECRET. When you can openly discuss something with reverence, it is SACRED. :dunno:

I think you're missing the point of the question. Maybe I need to restate?

In Mick Zagger's opinion, in which evident ways is Romney's judgement being influenced by being a Mormon, and which of those examples does he vehemently disagree with?

Did this come up with Obama since he's a Christian?

Not millions, no

romney thinks we are all going to hell

hey drock, do you think polygamy should be legal? i do

could then a mormon woman have 100 husbands? she should right?

That isn't even a blip on the radar when you consider the countless numbers of people who were killed by the Catholics. The Spanish Inquisition, the missionaries sent to the Americas, the Crusades, etc. The Mormons have a long way to go before they can even claim to be in the same universe as the Catholics or Islam.

meanwhile, the atheist 20th-century regimes of Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot were pure as the driven snow.

How about making it about bad people, instead of large-scale stereotypes based on broad generics?

There's something to be said about building small planets. Provide them every possible incentive to succeed.

Because that's not what this thread is about. This isn't about "bad people", this is about religions and their practices. My post was in response to Zags

I grew up Catholic. The religion has no parallel's to the Mormon religion.

While the Mormons might be newer, and have some weird practices, to try to hold the moral high ground as a Catholic is just absurd.

At 3:34 -- "The Mormon Law of Consecration requires that the faithful dedicate their "time, talents, and everything" to "the building up of the Kingdom of God (Elohim) on the Earth and for the establishment of Zion," referring to the Mormon belief that civil government will be replaced by a religious government administered by Mormons."

3:54 -- "All Mormon Church leaders, including Mitt Romney, once a Mormon bishop in Boston, have repeatedly taken this secret oath, viewed by many as a threat to the separation of church and state."

4:07 -- "During the time of Mitt Romney's parents and grandparents, this ritual contained a secret Oath of Vengeance against the USA for the murders of Mormon prophets Hyrum and Joseph Smith."

4:13 -- Part of the The Oath of Vengeance reads as follows: ..."to avenge the blood of the prophets upon the United States, and that you will teach the same to your children and to your children's children unto the third and fourth generation."

Yikes!

to believe in religion, you have to believe in ALL religions, to fool yourself into thinking that YOUR religion is the "right" one, and everyone else is wrong...well thats just plain fucking stupid, think about it

Dude, that's absolutely religulous if you're saying that all religion(s) is effectively boiled down to simple relativism.
