Zeller can be on the floor in a critical playoff game unlike Kanter this past season.
and yet, it was Kanter as the starting C that helped the Blazers make it to the WCF
maybe it wasn't all Kanter last year as much as it was the other defensive sieves he was playing with. By the way, Kanter has significantly better "impact" numbers in the playoffs then does Zeller
Nance is better overall impact player than Hood.
he certainly is now after Hood's Achilles injury. Hood was pretty good that season though. I'd probably give Nance the edge but it isn't a big one. And we don't know yet how Nance will fit in the rotation
Curry didn't play all that much for us
Curry averaged 2 more minutes a game that season than Ant last season; and he averaged 3 more minutes in the playoffs
Nas scored 30 in a game last season so not totally unproven
in other words, he's unproven...just not "
totally"....for instance, his
total playoff minutes is 3
Snell is better defender than Layman and better shooter than Turner.
Turner was a better defender than Snell and could run the offense, some of the time. Now, I feel dirty because I didn't like Turner, at all. He was one of Olshey's worst mistakes
we're just splitting nits right now
but again, you're arguing that this bench will be better, based on spec, and based upon two or three players playing better than they ever have. It might happen like that but chances are it won't, not for all of them, and if a couple fall short, this bench won't be as good; it's margin of error is that small
I hope you guys are right, that Nas and Ant take big steps forward; Snell turns into James Jones 2.0; Nance is in the running for 6th MOY, and that Billups can unlock all the potential you guys see, but I'm not seeing. I'm getting old....I'd like to see the Blazers as a contender before I croak....although I guess a lot of you guys think I croak all the time
