Bullshit is right. How many times does she need to be told something before she stops? I wasn't one to complain. I didn't really care - I just glossed over her/his posts. I don't really care one way or the other. But the mods are doing their jobs. If people are repeatedly complaining, and the mods are actively communicating that she/he needs to stop a behavior, and she's not responding, what else can you do? It's not like she can't come back under a new name and post - she just needs to modify her/his behavior. It's a message board. Who cares if she has to come back under a new name. It's not like her IP is perma-banned (just look at mixum/carlito/brock/etc).

But it's pretty much common sense that if you're asked repeatedly to stop doing a behavior, and you continue to do it, you're going to pay the price.

Well in the past, when someone exhibited such behavior they were given a warning (usually several) in the short term suspensions prior to a permanent ban. It seems like either the protocol has changed or this particular poster was singled out.

So, have the rules changed?

Besides, as I said before, if you're being told you're pushing the envelope, isn't that enough? That's my big question for B-N-M. If the mods are repeatedly telling a poster to simmer down, and the behavior doesn't change, why should they let the poster off with a 24-hour suspension? A weak slap on the wrist isn't going to fix anything when a poster is ignoring repeated warnings.

Besides, again... it's all moot. The poster can come right back with a new username.

Yep, that's how I read it, too. And it's been mentioned in other threads previously that she was given several warnings, both public and private, about the content and manner of her interpersonal "sparring".

In all reality, if the mods' job is to help make the forum a place that people want to frequent and participate in, then this was probably justified. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Comparing their history of disruptive behavior to Blazer Fanatic's is ridiculous. Was she even here six months? Was she ever suspended for any reason prior to the outright ban. I have no idea what was exchanged in PMs between her and the mods, but banning her outright after such a relatively short time period, without ever being suspended is inconsistent with how these situations have been handled in the past. That's all I'm saying. If that qualifies as bitching and moaning, in your opinion, so be it.

Its kinda weird how you say she was more knowledgeable than 90% of the posters here. She never really talked basketball outside of her long-winded opinion and taking anything that she perceived as negative into a rant that berates you. In summary, everyone on the Blazers is the best player in the NBA and anybody on any other team absolutely sucks. I don't find that very knowledgeable.
