I would like Chalmers because he's a vet that was on a winning system.

Adrian Wojnarowski@WojYahooNBAChris Kaman has reached agreement on a two-year, $10M deal with Portland, league source tells Yahoo Sports

Just tweeted . . . no sign and trade? :(

Edit: Wrong! that was an old tweet . . .

Why would the Lakers want to do that? They want to clear cap space too.

Am I missing... Oh never mind. I see your edit!

If the Lakers use cap space to sign a couple of max deals, they're going to need some cheap young players to fill out the roster. The Blazers can supply those contracts.

When does the moratorium end? It would be great we could retain our MLE for other deals. Then again, if this is done via MLE and we get other deals via trades, that's fine as well.

I was tearin up NYC this past weekend and didn't really follow what was going on much. Saw this news and immediately felt deflated since I wanted a lot more.

We will know July 10th. That's when deals can get signed

Very interesting. So am I correct that we don't know if it's a sign and trade?
I read it as random speculation by someone who knows as much as you or me.

Because a third team with a $3M trade exception wants Freeland and sends LA a draft pick?

If we did a sign and trade then after acquiring Kaman we'd still have 2 or 3 roster spots available. Maybe we'd be splitting up the MLE? Al-Farouq Aminu as a defensive SF with Ekpe Udoh as a defensive big? Then still keep Mo or whatever BAE PG we can get.

I would really like to see Aminu here. He could play some SF off the bench moving Nic to SG and off the bench Barton could be at the PG spot with all three of them splitting the ball-handling duties. Such a much more defensively disruptive group off the bench than Lillard/Williams/Wright.....ugh.

That would be very disruptive on the perimeter.

:matrix:

I have been hesitant on Aminu mainly because he is such a poor shooter. I love his defense, he just doesn't give you enough on the offensive side of the ball.

Isn't Aminu still pretty young? I'd be shocked if he went for only the BAE.

This thread could teach Olshey some creativity. Even if the names are unlikely, he could fill in the blanks with different players.
