I guess my point was that people keep bashing Bennett saying he is garbage and some of those same people are saying Leonard might have a breakout year
True, but Bennett had opportunity to prove his with playing time. Leonard was buried I the bench

You don't get it. We'd get rid of him by buying him out and get picks for it.
I do get it. You don't get it. The picks are lame compared to the Shit contract. Buying him out doesn't exclude his salary from cap. You are open for paying 20+ million for a couple picks?! I got a shack in Beaverton I want to sell you for $1,000,000. You can pay for it to be demo and build a strip club which couple possibly make you 1,000,001 in 10 years

I mentioned this before, is there a team that might want PEK who doesn't have the capspace and where we can facilitate the trade (make it a 3-way) and get "paid" for doing that? I can't remember who is playing C for New Orleans, but an offensive oriented C paired with Anthony Davis would be a very potent combo. Of course a lot depends on the prognosis for his recovery from his recent injuries. Without his injuries Pek at 12 mil per for the next 3 years is actually a pretty good deal salary wise considering the crazy deals this new cap is inspiring - the risk of course is his health and how much does he play the next 3 years.

I never stated how much I want back, but you said that we shouldn't because wed have Pek on the roster and it would take away from our development. Which is wrong. $20M is the max, as I could see him buying out for less.

We'd need a package centered around a 1st or Shabazz.

Howe very I doubt talks even happened because who randomly tweets "So and so teams are working on a major deal. Could all fall apart." Every deal could fall apart. He only did that to cover his back becauae it was a BS rumor that he blew dead later that hour anyway.

Mags if and I stress "if" Pek can stay reasonably healthy his 12 mil per is not a bad contract at all IMO given what we are seeing and will see with the cap going higher and higher, pair him with a guy like Anthony Davis and that could be potent. Pek for us and where we are makes no sense, for a contender or a team that's close and trying to e a contender it might make sense.

He'd fit well in New Orleans though but I can't see them taking his contract. They just resigned Asik.

12 mil maybe reasonable, but at what cost? Is he a better answer than Leonard or Vonleh? Is he better than Davis or Plumlee? That development playing time would greatly be a problem with these 4 players.

20 mil Max is still way too much. Are you saying we get Shabazz?! Lmao, how the fuck would Minny be stupid enough to add him to the mix. Shabazz, towns and wiggins are untouchable as far as they are concern.

Bennett and Pek? Yeah fuck that bullshit

Mags I stated in one of my posts on this that he is NOT a good fit for US and where we are, but he might be for another team and maybe we can get "paid" for using capspace and facilitating a trade?

My bad! Totally open to that scenario

I ask..if he's so great, why do the Wolves want to get rid of him?

ESPN must not think much of Bennett, not that I think much of ESPN or their trade machine win/lose projections.

For giggles, I made some mock Blazer/Minny trades on ESPN trade machine. Kaman straight up for Bennett ESPN projected we would win 5 more games with Kaman than with Bennett.

Not sure "great" was brought up in this thread?

T-Rob has been on 4 different teams in two years. He was pretty solid, and his numbers on Philly, where he got a real chance showed he was pretty damn decent

Hard to say what's the reason but TRob will stick somewhere..TRob has a motor. What I read said Bennett's a project..I'm surprised Dallas doesn't give him a shot

I never said we could get Shabazz straight up. But maybe if we send out a lotto protected 1st and agree to take Pek they'd think about giving up Shabazz.

And $20M is too much? We have $20M in cap space that will likely go unused. Might as well get assets from it.

Go unused? Sorry I don't buy that. $20 mil can be used in many trades, especially if our youth plays well

it could, you'd just have to judge whether you think the package Minny offers would be more valuable than one we could get down the road.

The Blazers have about $50.5 million committed in team salary.
The minimum NBA team salary for the 2015/16 season is about $63 million.

Olshey has about $12.5 million in free money to play with.

Which player that makes more than $12.5 million on any team is a team is looking to dump to clear cap space, and we would want to trade cap space for? (the reason for only one player instead of multiple players is, our roster is getting crowded).

Anyone have any ideas?

We still have Mike Miller to waive and not count on our books.

Nothing funny about this, it's the truth. I believe in ESPN/their trade machine even more now!:ygrin:

I bet Bennett was part of the talks. Apparently Minnesota has been wanting to trade him.

Good possibility but what I heard the players they wanted was better than the ones that the wolves wanted to trade that got nix quickly by the gm.

If Miller is bought out, only the buyout amount counts against the cap and the team gains a roster spot.

I wonder if the Warriors would want to dump David Lee. He's on the books at 15.5 million and they have quite an expensive roster. I don't think we'd want David Lee though.

And I'm sure Boston would love to give us Gerald Wallace, but that guy needed to retire 3 years ago.

Kaman is, for now, our token old guy. We don't need any more old guys. The only way we should trade one of our front court prospects, is for a better front court prospect, a young guard or wing, or a front court player a year or two further along in his development. No old guys.
