Blazers are for Sale

long term deals mean SHIT -- the new owners could take those contracts and eat them and move them on there way -- FACTS

I really have no idea why it was announced today - perhaps it was related to the lottery, perhaps not. I don't understand how you would know either?

Not that it wouldn't be sold eventually or even in the next few months with a different lottery result. But it might have changed the timing or manner in which it was announced.

Jody also said these estate sales can take 20 years or longer. So sure seems like she could have drawn this out many more years if she wanted to.

Maybe Adam Silver said ,"if you sell the team you'll get the #1 picks in 28, 29 and 30, and we'll help facilitate a nice offer..."

IT'S ABOUT TIME!!

Tod Leiweke in April saying that the Kraken group, led by David Bonderman will be the Sonics ownership group.

So all the proceeds from the sale go to Charity? Seems like greed is not exactly an issue after all.

Honest question - is this better news than the Blazers winning a top4 pick?

I'm seriously considering that it might be.

Ahh yes of course - its part of the massive NBA conspiracy that sends superstars to small markets. Appreciate you reminding me.

being a Blazer fan...if you can't laugh, you'll cry.

Yes it is. I can go back to attending games and being my full fan self again. I haven't been to a game since this ownership group lied to Dame and us.

Sorry Sharpe -- I did something I have been good at not doing but did it this time

I did not fully read it and saw something not there -- my bad -- I own it

It will be nice to finally see Bert K out of the Blazers cause he is the biggest cancer for this team and not even the jail blazers back when was as bad for the team as he is right now

Dame retires, puts together ownership group, buys Blazers, fires Cronin.

It'd make far more sense for him to do all that, rehire Olshey and then finally, in public, admit it was Olshey who fucked things up and not Cronin, and re-fire Olshey in a very public manner.

Give the team to us; RC2 as a collective whole. First fan led organization. Power to the people.

Together we will lead Portland to another championship with our sheer passion and determination to see a successful franchise.

Agreed. The sale was gonna happen eventually but the fact it was announced today and not 2 days ago probably has everything to do with waiting for the lottery selection to come out.

I heard somewhere that Flagg potentially brings in an obscene amount of value for whatever team gets him.

So it makes sense to do it after. But not necessarily caused by losing out on him.

I hope no one too horrible buys them. I mean they are all super rich but there are still degrees. Please God not Elon.
There are non-horrible billionaires? Well, if there are
(a) they just became a billionaire, but
(b) they won't be for long because they plan to give it all away

Teams always sell for more than they're valued at. Despite its issues, the franchise is one of 30, in an insanely elite group.

usually that's true. I'd estimate around 4B

if it was the Blazers WITH the #1 pick in 2025...how much of a premium for that 1st pick? $b-->4.5B?

I would guess it would add .5 to .75 billion.
