• Seven of the last eight contests between Portland and Denver, have been decided by
fewer than 10 points.
• The 2012-13 season marked the first time the Trail Blazers lost a season series to
Denver since 2009-10 (both resulted in a 1-3 record).

• Portland has lost nine games in a row against the Nuggets in Denver, its last win at
the Pepsi Center coming on Dec. 16, 2007, a 116-105 win.

• In the last eight meetings, at least one team has scored 100-plus points.

• On Dec. 20, 2012 the Nuggets shot 0-for-22 from 3-point range, setting an NBA record
for most 3-pointers attempted in a game without a make. Just 10 days earlier, the Trail
Blazers set the record, going 0-for-20 against Toronto.

GO BLAZERS!!!

Normally I'd give you props for this, but I think you jinxed us against the Suns!

game is on CSN? good, I won't have to watch the blazers play like shit for two games in a row.

This is a winnable game. All Portland needs to do is play like they did during the last 5 games of preseason.

It would help if the other team doesnt try very hard to win, as in the preseason.

I'm very pessimistic about this game. We usually struggle in Denver. I expect us to play very well at home Saturday against a superior Spurs team. But in Denver the altitude is rough and until we are proven otherwise I have to pencil this Blazer team in for road struggles.

It’ll be interesting to see Lopez vs Hickson. I’ve been a pretty big Hickson supporter around here as I think even with his deficiencies he is a legit rotational player. If our D and team rebounding doesn’t improve over game1, and particularly from Lopez, I’ll begin to wonder if Lopez fits with this team in the long term.

I take it you didn't catch the Clipper and Golden State game then.

http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400491566 - Griffin (25 minutes), Dudley (38), Paul (30), Crawford (30), Jordan (22)

Yeah they sure played their starters like they didn't want to win those games

Everyone outside of Lillard/LA shooting 28% (props to Brian for that stat) needs to not happen as well.

It will be fun to see Aldridge shooting 18 foot jump shots all night instead of abusing JJ "no defense" Hickson down low

Can we have a friendly wager on this game? I think Aldridge will be living in the paint and out-play Hickson. You obviously think that Aldridge will have a poor rebounding night and live on the perimeter.

winner must publicly claim they were a fool to ever disagree with the other poster.

What are the parameters of the bet? Define poor rebounding night. Define live on the perimeter.

Well… I would assume "poor rebounding" would be anything less than 7 (2 below last season's average). Live on the perimeter would mean that more than 65% of his shots were from there (since that was last year's average).

I think JJ will be defending Lopez, and McGee will defend LaMarcus.

Where is your admission to foolishness over Nate and Leonar_ ?

Seems like I am getting the short end of the stick here

I don't bet at all. I had an.......issue with it a while back

What admission are you talking about?

Oh yes, the short end of the stick? Well if you are making claims that Aldridge won't rebound and shoot 18 foot jumpers, than back peddle like this, then we know where you are going. I gave you a cushion. I mean 2 less rebounds than his last 3 year average?!?!

I'm not peddling anywhere. I stand by the statement. I just don't bet

Not at all.

I called everyone else out when they claimed nate was a good coach and Leonar_ was a good basketball player.

Oh please show me the proof that I said that the last season Nate was coach? And as for Leonard?!?! Ummm, your memory must have been faded because I have been called out with all my statements that Leonard is a pussy. You sure you talking to the right person?

Nate how about you stop making excuses and take responsibility for this shit team? You have managed to coach all but two players, making them well below their career averages. Stop blaming injuries, when you already knew that Oden was probably not coming back and Roy was going to be a "shell of himself".

I'm tired of this shit and your arrogance that this isn't your fault. FUCK YOU!

Most likely 0-2.

LMA is a perimeter shooter, end of story. Just from last night, I can only remember 2 times he even drove to the basket.

I don't see us winning the game. We aren't good enough yet. Period. Hope I'm proven wrong, but gauging from last night, there is more work to be done and 2 days and traveling to a very hard place to win a game isn't going to help.

0-2. Sucks, but it's the likelihood.

WRONG….

http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/shotchart?gameId=400488888

According to the shot chart, Aldridge had 7 shots in the paint. He also had another 5 shots 14-16 ft. In fact, he only had 10 shots outside of 16 ft.; which actually is 42% of his shots were from the dreaded 17-21 ft complaint.

Okay. I was wrong on that, however. 15 of his 22 shots were outside the paint (I only count paint as actual paint) (68%)

If we're not feeding lopez for easy buckets, we're still a perimeter team 68% of the time (obviously averages will fluctuate as the season goes on). That concerns me still.

Aldridge was unstoppable on the block last night. They were forced to double team him every time. It's what happens after the double that we need to improve on.

Or when Lillard drives the lane and gets doubled.

He shot 12/22.........what exactly are you upset about?

It's kinda weird seeing that he missed 4 of his 7 shots down low, within 3-5 feet of the basket. He was taking contested shots down there all night instead of dishing it out.

I don't disagree that Aldridge needs to live in the paint more. I think there needs to be a couple double screens and some pick and rolls for Lopez to get easy buckets. I think at the beginning of the game, we were forcing things too much and had some passes that put the players in bad positions to score.

Does concern mean upset?

I never said upset. Just that he is still showing sign of timidness towards being effective in the paint and banging down low. Was 3/7 in the paint last night, most contested shots instead of finding the open guy. Concern and upset are two completely different things.
