Notice Blazers Pick Shaedon Sharpe With #7 Pick

I'm expecting him to do well in summer league because the ratball style should feel just like high school.

Can I just say that I'm extremely disappointed in Travis Demers...

I was listening this afternoon and he said he hadn't watched a single highlight of Shaedon Sharpe. How the hell are you a member of the media and you don't even take the time to watch a 15-20 minute video about a guy who was rumored to be your teams pick? Just lazy man.

Damn it just finally hit me that I’m old. I was a junior in high school when has born

He works for the team so he prefers not to have an opinion on anything related to the team

Beal is pretty prototypical, and Sharpe is way longer than him?
Beal plays point and guards the smallest guy on the opponent a lot.

I want them to have the most complimentary & versatile roster as possible. Didn't umpteen years of featuring an undersized 2 guard teach us anything about trying to get by with undersized wings? Sharpe is a normal sized 2, why do you want him to be an small 3? Just so we can pretend we've a complete lineup? So sorry, no.

I'm thrilled it seems they've invested in the future on what the braintrust thinks is the guy with the highest ceiling rather then trading for established meh. Hopefully they stay the course.

He'll be fine, but ideally you want bigger wings if your starting 1/2 is Dame/Ant. What's our ceiling defensively?

Dude was 18 years old a few weeks ago. I wouldn't sweat how his defense fits with a 32 year old Damian Lillard.

You're right, 33 year old Damian Lillard may not be playing for the Blazers.

Sharpe was 9 years old when Dame was drafted.

He was 5 years old when Dame was playing at Weber State.

Heres to hoping he shows enough in his first season to influence important decisions this franchise needs to make in the future.

I can't help but notice how thick Sharpe's thighs are already. That's really going to help with not getting bodied in the NBA.

Edit:

Thank goodness he's had a year of training, coaching, and practicing at Kentucky since those videos were shot.

Yeah I think people are really undervaluing the impact of just being with an elite college program like Kentucky for weight training and coaching during practices. A lot of times players learn more from the practices than the games.

I like the pick! I'll REALLY like it if we keep him. I've been pretty down on the team since... 2019-ish. But this is the best talent we've added in years and as long as we don't mortgage the future to add more pieces to win now, I think it'll be a fun team to root for this season and into the future.

We are building around Dame, Not Simons & Little. So I would expect the team to mortgage the future for a win now team. Big moves are in the future plans and if not your just wasting Dames prime.

Does he mean done as in done deal? Or done as in trade talks are done?
I doubt we'd trot Joe out for a presser where he talks about how much he likes Sharpe only to turn around and move him. But, who knows.

It was when Sharpe was drafted, and it's basically saying we're not getting OG.

Whatever. No matter how badly he fails, people will just natter on about patience.
What are you even talking about. Fails? The entire draft could “fail”. Should they not draft anyone ever? Do college players not fail? Did Kobe fail, I mean, he didn’t go to college and all. And KG. And Lebron. Nobody understands your take here
