Nah, my dreams were dashed this season. We're no longer trying to build a contender. Just trying to field a team for Chauncey to coach in the play-in.Those of you who wanted the vets gone at any expense are getting their wish.
This will hopefully clear the way for the young guys and provide veteran leadership. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s dealt again before the draft.
grant was awful all season.
I honestly dont' get the weird obsession fans have with players or irrational fears about getting players.
I guess this years is KAT and Beal.
it's like you guys don't read anything you type.
Link?he's lost some too
You don’t remember the Jim Paxon trade?
Those 13 or so games were not a result of some master stroke... not from the front office or from Chauncey (who I like). Those wins were the difference between a team predicted to be in a game of capture the Flagg tank and a team that decided to abandon a rebuild before completion and win every game they could.Yeah, that bastard had nothing to do with the team winning 13+ more games than they were expected to last year!
It doesn't matter. We're not building a title contender, so I'm just hoping Scoot comes around. We will miss his ability to take over games down the stretch next season I PROMISE you.
So wins are because of the players and losses are on the coach? Never understood this mind state. Those 13 or so games were not a result of some master stroke... not from the front office or from Chauncey (who I like). Not as much as Simons. Either he'll get back to close to being himself and he'll actually help us win games or he'll come off the bench as a mentor. And so will Jrue...
Jrue for Dame....There is no way Cronin is done here. No way.

Either way is far better than Simons. Except for the money thing...
They won 13+ more because they were expected to tank again. That is what everyone expected. Then, it appears they decided to put the team up for sale (but did not announce at the time) and inflate their win total. Portland played lots of playoff teams at the end of the season and couldn't hang. Beat the hell out of the shit teams though.Yeah, that bastard had nothing to do with the team winning 13+ more games than they were expected to last year!
I dont think it is as much about 2nd round picks as it is that Desmond Freaking Bane got many 1sts and we had to give away 2nds with Simons for a 35 year old PG owed 100 million that clearly is on the downswing of his career.Damn, I won’t be able to sleep tonight thinking of those TWO SECOND ROUND PICKS!!!!!!
There were a handful of wins before the trade deadline where Chauncey coached great, the players played great and it changed the course of the season from tanking for Flagg to whatever course we're on right now. I like Chauncey and I think if he'll coach his philosophies really hard (not let ball stoppers stay in the game, not let defensive liabilities stay in either) then we'll have a bunch of fun games coming up. I don't know if it will end up with us as contenders but I think we're probably headed back to the playoffs. So wins are because of the players and losses are on the coach? Never understood this mind state.

I'd have rather kept Simons and let him expire at year end than deal him for Holiday.I don’t feel like you can compare what this team got for that player because every situation/trade is unique. Magic obviously really wanted Bane for their own reasons & it’s obvious Simons value around the league isn’t as high as we hoped.
I was waiting for someone to past that lol.Now that Ant is gone... here's one of his highlights?

i was thinking the sameJrue for Dame....

That would make sense. So we'll wait and see but I hope you're right.I’m not gonna start crying yet, I think there’s a move or two coming. I’ve always liked Jrue but I doubt he wants to be on the Blazers as currently constructed. Either another win now piece is coming or Jrue is being traded again is my guess.
If they don't they should if the alternative is a 35 year old owed 100 million over the next 3 years that had an obvious down year.Do any GM’s let good players expire/walk nowadays?
