You mean they'll trade up for him? I only ask because as much as the mocks are all over the place this draft, I don't see anyone who has Sharpe falling to 11th.

I agree with Mediocre Man in the opinion the Knicks are trying to move up in the draft. Personally, I think Sharpe is the target but if Ivy fell in their laps they might snatch him up. If Sharpe is all that, then the Knicks would be the big stage for him. Purely opinion, no inside info.

Dyson Daniels does not seem like a good fit for Damian Lillard. Lillard likes to have the ball and need finishers, either from the 3-point line or at the hoop on a pick-and-roll, lobs, not sure. We haven't seen that much
Those comps scare the hell out of me
I think Daniels has the lower floor compared to Duren and Mathurin. As they are, Mathurin at least should be able to score well in some situations, like Ben McLemore. Duren should be a serviceable center. If Daniels never develops a consistent outside shot , he's not going to get much playing time.

Just watched the Duren vid from the blazers and his interview impressed me and I think there is a good chance unless someone slips the Blazers will trade back between 9 and 11 and then take Duren. I think this Knicks rumor / speculation might have some fire to it not involving Obi but Randle cause i saw something of the knicks giving up another future 1st and that was with Obi in trade and that makes NO sense. The knicks want to get off the Randle contract so packaging another 1st and got to be honest something else makes more sense to get off that contract for the knicks.

My prediction just the base parts of a trade i am sure more has got to happen so here it goes --- Blazers and Knicks

Blazers receive -- Knicks 11th pick , Randle and Cam Reddish , Future 1st ( Top 10 protected ) and maybe a 2nd

Knicks receive -- Blazers 7th Pick , Eric Bledsoe ( mainly his contract ) and maybe something else

This then allows the Blazers to get there real Target of Duren and they take him at a spot that is not as much of a reach and that pick is protection when Nurk goes down and let's be honest nurk at some point will go down for 5 to 15 games and even if he does not I think unless Nurk is hot in a game his minutes should be limited to keep his workload down to around 25 to 30 min per game.

This is my prediction for the team

if this is the return we can expect, i'd be over the moon. i don't think 7 has that kinda value unfortunately.

If we could get randle and the 23 Mavs pick that would be decent return. Theoretically you could then package the Bucks pick and the Mavs pick for something decent. Of course my worry would be that both picks go to Detroit for Grant so Joe can satisfy their demand of 2 first rounders.

Cosigned. I don't love Randle and would still have to look at Cronin a little differently if this were the outcome...

Fun prediction. I like that it adds to both Dame and Ant’s timeline

Collins is someone I'd watch...

ATL has some MASSIVE cap issues. Portland can help them alleviate some of that and save them a ton of money. Collins doesn't want to play with Trae....although playing with Dame/Ant can't be that much more attractive in terms of guards getting up a lot of shots.

I'd like to think Portland could trade back a bit (maybe the Spurs with their 9,20, and 25 picks) and get Collins with the #9 and have another asset.

that would be a terrific maximizing of the #7 pick and I would love it.

There's a lot of noise around our interest in Collins from different sources, and KOC has said we've been after him for a while. Dame even follows him, fwiw :)

Hell, if we move those other picks to DET for Grant, I would be glad to roll out a lineup of Dame/Ant/Grant/Collins/Nurk. I think that would easily win 50+ games if healthy and could make noise in the playoffs if Billups manages the defense well.

It’s definitely not a reputable source, just think it’s interesting that this is floating around among several circles.

where there’s smoke, etc.

Yeah, so they've got a few people to click on them and follow but mostly they just take other sources quotes and don't credit them and so I don't know if this is from another more reliable source like so many of their quotes seem like they might be or if they just pull something like this out of their ass.

Portland likes Collins

that might be a troll acct, but our interest in Collins has not exactly been secret.

Yes they do. And they can help the Hawks lessen a HORRIBLE cap situation. If it was #7 for Collins and #16, I'd think pretty hard about it. Atlanta is where Portland was....they don't have leverage.
Unfortunately, Portland doesn't really have a way to relieve their cap situation.
Collins makes more than the TPE. Therefore, Bledsoe's contract would have to go out. ~$18M of his contract would have to be guaranteed - leaving only $5M in savings for the Hawks next year.

I think you kinda hope the 7th pick turns out like John Collins. 20ish ppg, 9ish rpg, very good 3pt shooter. Not a horrible defender.
I think that is a baseline hope, not like a "reach for the stars" type of hope. You hope that with the 7th pick you can strike gold and land an all star.

Don't get me wrong if there is some kind of deal or collection of deals out there where we end up with John Collins and Jeremi Grant while just giving up the draft assets we have available without fucking around with the pick we owe the Bulls and all of the future draft picks that keeps off the board, along with Bledsoe and the TPE... then I think Cronin can seem like he made the moves he's made so far in his tenure look alright. I won't care how we get there. We'll have two really good (not great) forwards that are the best forward combo Dame has had since Nic and LA without giving away our future firsts after 2023. That's also if he gets Ant and Nurk back on reasonable contracts and Dame/Ant aren't just a Dame/CJ redux or worse.

Wonder if Joe liked him?

probably never know....but I can't imagine Cronin will ever take any credit for that 2017 draft because all there is for the Blazer FO is blame and condemnation. Not one good thing in that draft for Portland.

... and 78.3M over the next three seasons after that.

I wish there was a way to get Okongwu as well. That would be amazing.
