Blazers vs Rockets Game Thread..... 02/07/12

I'm not looking forward to anything except the offseason.

Some major rebuilding is going to be happeneng.

Starting with the coach hopefully. I'm glad at what McMillian did with the team but he just isn't the coach that can get us over the hump from okay to great team. (A good PG would help with that too).

I'm soooo sick of Failton. 9 points 6 assists and 5 turnovers.

Can we please get someone who knows how to run an offense?

He's not THIS bad. He was good on all his other teams. Why is he THIS bad all of a sudden? Answer? Nate McMillan. We have a better roster than the Rockets, but our players look like absolute shit this year. I don't think McMillan plays to the strengths of his players. At this point we could get Dwight Howard and it wouldn't matter. As long as we have Nate as our coach, we are set to be mediocre.

Tank. Should we do it? Not much to play for this season. 8th seed or late lottery.

Hey Phil; you wanna coach all our talent? I know you hate our city; but it will grow on ya.

Offseason? I want a trade before the deadline!

On the bright side guys, LaMarcus is going to be named to the All Star team tomorrow. Be happy for him.

Cause he kinda sucked in Minny. Was it Minny? Yeah it was Minny, right?
He kinda sucked as a GM iirc. But didn't his team also get the death penalty for collusion or something? He didn't have much to work with.

Jackson only coaches teams with at least 2 superstars.

Yeah, you're right, they lost a year's picks. To be honest, though, I dunno if McHale could do much with the streaky shooters we have.

You know what I do to make myself feel better after a Blazers' loss? Play some NBA 2K12 and dominate.

I nearly picked up a copy when the lockout was going, but then the lockout ended. I'm wishing now I'd just pretended it hand't.

What else needs to be said other then this season is over

Team is boring as hell. At least they were fun to watch when they were playing fast, but now, it's just ugly basketball by players who have mediocre talent. We're going nowhere fast.

Correction: they lost THREE years picks. They were supposed to lose five years (2001-05) but it was then reduced to 01,02 and 04.

LOL. Yeah, this season has been torture so far. And with Felton at the helm, the torture isn't gonna end anytime soon.

Quite frankly, the roster kind of just shits on itself. For one they're not deep enough, and secondly they're not optimized to be built around Aldridge. You're likely going to move any of Portland's good, liquid assets if you're going to try and make a trade that pushes the team forward this year. I'd rather wait until the offseason when there's a lot more flexibility in regards to roster moves.

That said, I am a fan of pawning off guys like Wallace and Felton for whatever we can get before the deadline.

McMillian is a great coach who gets a lot of of a little but when he has an abundance of talent and has to change his gameplan he seems lost. Great coach for a bad team, bad coach for a good team.

The last time this team had an abundance of talent was 7 years ago.

I agree. Great PF's always thrive when they have a good PG around them. Name me a great PF that didn't have a good PG.

KG in Minny (then again, Brandon/Cassell were far better than the trash we have).
Gasol in MEM had Jason Williams, whose stats there look nearly identical to Felton's here.

Was at the game; this game was lost by the coaching staff unable to make adjustments; shitty D, and we need a better PG and a better offense.

Brandon/Cassell/Marbury were all AS caliber players.
